Substantial. Whatever is necessary to get Lebron here. But probably went come to that. When lebron tells them he's leaving, they'll trade him to us. They're not stupid enough to let him walk for nothing. So it won't come to that in all likelihood. But if it does, all three guys (Paul, DJ, Ariza) will do what's necessary to sign Lebron.

Today Clint and Deandre are essentially the same player and Deandre is trending down while Clint is trending up... Clint is the future of NBA centers and has improved every year.

It makes no sense to cash out on him now... this guy can be a legitimate star while DJ is what he is and his best days are likely behind him.

I’d be down for adding DJ to be the back up and get 20 mins a game next year at a discount but I wouldn’t want him over Capela.
Well if we are talking hypothetical worlds there is a way we can get Lebron and Jordan in the off season and retain Paul and Capela...

First we have to get rid of Anderson and Tucker.

Then we have to convince Lebron to come here and sign him... after that we are capped out but we can still go over the cap to resign Capela and Paul because we have their Bird rights. And after that if Jordan wants to come win a ring he could sign for the mid level exception.

After that though we are pretty much locked into our team for at least 2-3 years with the exception of guys that will sign for the vet minimum.

I really don’t think the point is that he is clearly superior... it’s that they are very similar and Capela is younger and still improving he is an asset in the NBA today and Jordan is not. No team is going to give up anything of substance for Jordan in the trade market. Unless the Cavs panic but that would be a huge mistake.

If S&T then don't need to get rid of Tucker. He's an asset.

    • The Clippers are still open for business. The Rockets, Bucks, and Blazers have all poked around Jordan, but nothing has gotten anywhere near serious. (Wojnarowski said on a podcast Monday that the Blazers have "backed away" on Jordan for now. The Rockets and Clippers got fairly far along on a Jordan deal a year ago, sources have said, but with Clint Capela's emergence, the Rockets don't have a real need. It's unclear how recently the two teams even talked.)

    • You know the Rockets will kick around any way to upgrade this roster, even on the fringes. They are all-in to chase Golden State now.

DeAndre would have to opt-out of his current deal and I find that highly highly highly unlikely and it would be stupid for him to do financially.

Not shocking, makes no sense for Dallas to pay DJ at this point.

He's said he's thinking through his options, but as the season ended the rumor in LA was that he was going to opt in and that he had told the organization he wanted to be a Clipper for life. In March of this year he said he wanted to spend 10 more years with the Clippers.
