Who do you think deserves the various awards given by the NBA?
    Mine :

MVP - Tim Duncan. Unless there arises a unique situation, I believe in the best player, best team theory for MVP.

Coach of the Year - Pat Riley. He lost Mourning, so he went and turned Mason into an All-star.

6th man - Aaron McKie. He played major minutes, played good D, and had a few triple doubles.

Defensive Player of the Year - Latrell Sprewell. Tough choice, but Spree's on-the-ball defense is superb.

Most Improved - Tracy McGrady. Next question.

Rookie of the Year - Charles Barkely on TNT.

I can't think of anymore awards.

MVP - Allen Ierson. Tim Duncan has a solid supporting cast backing him up, while "The Answer" hasn't had as much help

Coach of the Year - Don Nelson. He turned the Mavs around, getting not only into the playoffs, but came very close to homecourt advantage.

6th man - Aaron McKie. He played major minutes, played good D, and had a few triple doubles.

Defensive Player of the Year - Latrell Sprewell. Tough choice, but Spree's on-the-ball defense is superb.

Most Improved - Tracy McGrady / Shawn Marion.

Rookie of the Year - Mike Miller. Marc Jackson, if he wasn't injured.

I left two of yours alone.

I can see Don Nelson getting Coach of the Year. The Mavs are so much better this year, but I think a key factor would be the sentimental card since he was ill earlier this year.

Rudy should get coach of the year. He won't though, because people think all he does is run an ISO offense. It'll probably go to some feel good story case like Don Nelson, or Pat Riley and his Zo'less team.

6th man of the year: Sean Colson

I hate Pat Riley, but I have to give him the nod for coach of the year. For him to change a team that relied totally on the C to a team that could play with no C is pretty incredible.

If the '95 Rockets lost Olajuwon for most of the season and still managed to win the majority of their games, then everyone here would be calling Rudy coach of the year.

I don't care about the other awards so I don't have any extra predictions.

Its not like the Heat dont have some good players besides Zo--Hardaway, Grant, Mason, Jones

My pick for COY: George Karl
I know the East is easy but if you remember the Bucks were something like 2-10 to start the year. I credit his coaching with turning the team around.

    MVP: Iverson
ROY: ?? Mike Miller, Morris Peterson,
    Sixth Man: Aaron McKie
    MIP: Shawn Marion

Haha.. you fool! You fell victim to one of the classic blunders. The most famous is: Never get involved in a land war in Asia. Only slightly less well know is this: Never go in against a Sicilian when death is on the line!
