Anybody help on this one? It was a total bullshit call. It's not like Harden threw it up AFTER the whistle, it was legit in shooting. EDIT: see posted above. SIL
it's not an and1 b/c the league office considers HOU a nuisance to their marketing goals. this entire season has been one big "you are not going to F up our plans" by the officiating crews
Refs inconsistency is the problem, not that call. I actually like it if all those calls where a player gathers etc is all non-continuation unless it’s when a guy is already going up for a shot, dunk or lay-up and then gets fouled. Everything before = non-shooting, would eliminate a lot of this bs. Would probably make it more fun too to watch with less free throws. With regards to time-outs, MDA is pretty bad but so was McHale and I remember Adelman too being of the mentality to just let them figure it out. Rudy was better at that.
However it only works that way for certain teams and certain players I watched the Warriors get all kinds of calls against the celtics yesterday Simply put . ...the new defense is .. . if you beat hack and try again Harden gets by you hack him and no continuation Punishing the offensive player for getting by his man and giving the defensive player a cop out of hacking is just weak sauce The Refs help some players (Jordon, Curry, Durrant) Hurts others (Hakeem. Harden) Rocket River
i remember dwight getting inconceivable after inconceivable call against yao. and then he came to H-town lol against the pels, CP3's fifth foul came on incidental contact against davis immediately after davis had just committed 2 *obvious* offensive fouls against CP3 two seconds prior in the same possession. paul must be like paulWTF these days longing for those days getting LA love vs the washington generals treatment present-day
I agree --- I don't mind them not giving continuation all the time... BUT they have to do it consistently. Consistency is the only thing you can ask for from referees. It seemed that the refs were treating Demarcus Cousins like Shaq-meets-Michael-Jordan all night. Sidenote: Cousins wrestled down Capela and Nene on two different plays, and Hubie Brown was ranting about how 'everyone is trying to hold down Cousins like it's WWE out there". Cousins drew the foul on the Rockets on both plays, and he hooked and went down. Infuriating.
