Worst thing that could happen is Trump getting impeached now. You want it to happen at least later this year preferably never so he can run in 2020 and get humiliated. Besides he has set the economy up to overheat and crash and you don't want a Dem to be blamed for Trump messing up the economy which could take a few years to implode. Best thing that could happen is Feb regain Congress to check his power and then economy has a minor recession in 2020 which ushers Republicans completely out of power and spanks them so hard that The alt right quiets down. A humbled Republican party then works with Dems to fix the income Gap and restore upward mobility for both the alt right and minorities so that the alt right can stop scape goating others for their failure to value an education. Long shot I know
Paul Ryan isn’t impeaching Trump. I guarantee you he won’t do it. My opinion is that if he’s handed a referral from the special counsel before the end of the year, unless it’s so over the top criminal, what he will do is use the excuse that the House, Senate, and judiciary investigations should be allowed to conclude and that way the Republicans can use that to buy time and convolute the findings of the special counsel. The likelihood is the special counsel referral will fall into 2019 regardless so either way I think Paul Ryan wants nothing to do with it and he’d secretly be thrilled to lose the House this fall so he can avoid that train crash. I agree though that politically a weak and exposed Trump is easier to run against in 2020 than a revamped GOP who cleaned up PR wise after Trump but still have the benefit of Trump policies and court lifetime appointments left with them to benefit off of. However I still think what’s right is right. I would be politically good to leave a weak Trump in office under the thumb of Pelosi for 2 years, but if the law says he’s gotta go he’s gotta go.
You realize the strategy and plans that were used in Iraq to drive out ISIS were put into place under Obama right? As far as paying for a useless wall, nobody but misguided souls would be happy about that. One source named Trump promised that Mexico would pay for that wall. Now he will spend U.S. dollars on it. There is zero evidence that Mueller is corrupt. Not one bit.
This is interesting... trump's lawyers may have informed Muelller's investigation of the attempt to fire Mueller? Dumb if they did, unless they hoped it would somehow influence his investigation (also dumb if so).
I don't see how impeaching or not impeaching Trump plays any role in controlling or not controlling Congress. In order to not have a BlueWave mid term election cycle, they would have had to start the PR clean up campaign months ago. They are clearly going into mid-terms hitching their wagon to Trumpism either with or without Trump.
