I understand what you are saying. However I don’t think Chris Paul is a good example because he is extremely competitive.
Some myth some true. Trust me John Lucas was doing coke with some of Lakers off girls tummies when they were in town. You just didn't know because there weren't cell phone camera's everywhere.
cp3 has been helping all up and coming guards for the longest time. this is nothing new. thats a big reason why cp3 is so universally respected. dog on the court but more than willing to help the younger generation
Nobody in the "old" NBA would worry about some scrub on a 3-win team either... It's Dennis Smith Jr. not MVP D.Rose or something. Lulz.
Read the SI article on CP3 that someone posted. On the court he'll yell and scream but after the game he tries to be cool with everyone. Nothing wrong with that. It's still a game after all, no need to hate on people unless they are jerks.
The word you're looking for is protégé: a person who is guided and supported by an older and more experienced or influential person.
It's the AAU generation, they all played on the same teams before the NBA, they are still friends. it is what it is but agreed that it's more boring.
i prefer to hear about players trying to stab and shoot each other off the court like ariza tellin ga fan to pull up to his house. i bet ariza killed someone that day
Bill Russell and Wilt were great friends. Magic was friends with IT and Bird and later Jordan. Barkley and Jordan were at one time very close. and i'm sure loads of others as well. So its not something that just happen in the last 10 years.
