Pups loose no thanks to "Brick" Ewing. That guy has aged nowhere near as gracefully as Dream. ------------------
This is just the beginning of the end for the t-wolves. If anything, they've been streaky this season. After all those home wins, they're about due for some losses. This was a great game for them to lose, not only cause it puts us a half game closer, but it was the easiest (record-wise atleast) of their series of brutal games! I really believe that if we beat Phoenix tomorrow, we could be looking at a nice, long winning streak. I hope I didn't just pull a Bill Worrel. ------------------
Look at Minnesota's next 3 games... at Sac, at Portland, home against Portland. All 3 could be losses and at least 2 should be. If we can beat the Suns, Wizards, and Nets we could be tied with the Wolves by next week. ------------------ "We're not settling for just getting in the playoffs." "We want a higher seed. I really think we can do it. ------------------ Cuttino: When you have thousands of people telling you, 'You can do it, you can do it,' it helps you out an awful lot.
If we beat Phoenix tomorrow, I think odds are better than even money that we make the playoffs. MONSTEROUSLY HUGE game for the Rockets tomorrow night! ROCK Compaq Center, people!! ------------------ HOUSTON Rockets forever!!
We have to make up 4 games in 11, that is an AWFUL lot. The Rockets can not afford to lose any more WINNABLE games. Here is hoping I owe Cat a dollar. DaDakota ------------------ If you like RTS games, check out this one. www.frontierwars.com coming soon to a PC near you.
Good news, bad news, and more good news. Good news - Tpups lost and are 3 up on Rox Bad news - Sonics beat them trail Rox by .5 Good news - Marbury w/ season ending broken finger. ------------------ In the end there will be no judges...only witnesses to my greatness.
I'm gonna be at the Phoenix game tomor--er, later today. Anyone else gonna be there? You'd better make some f***ing noise, 'cuz by the time I head back to the car, I intend to be one hoarse mofo. ------------------
I'll be there. I will be the one yelling at Steve to break that wife-beaters ankles! ------------------
Possibly. And I'll add that the Timberwolves are 15-19 on the road, with seven road games remaining. Plus, the only *easy* opponents that the T-Wolves have left are against Vancouver and (maybe) the L.A. Clippers....all the rest of their opponents are against good Western Conf. teams. Rockets in playoffs can still happen with a little luck, and if they take care of business by winning the vast majority of their remaining games. ------------------
That's great! Plus a win against the suns will go a long way towards getting us to the playoffs. Not that I think the suns will be any easier to catch than the t-wolves (they really have a murderous schedule)...but a win would definitely help the confidence of the team. Hopefully the suns will be a little groggy tomorrow having play the night before. ------------------ "It's finger ling ling good!" - Homer Simpson's opinion of Kentucky Fried Panda
Isn't it amazing how when we have come off a tough road trip this next one seems to be wrapped up for us? Wahington traded one star player and cut the other. New Jersey just lost Stephon Marbury for the rest of the year. We have to take advantage or else we just don't deserve it. ------------------
I went to the game today. I just decided: "What the hell!" So I walked up to the box office, and got myself a nice nosebleed seat. What a great game, with a brilliant outcome. Cheering for the Sonics to win was just like cheering for the Rockets, because a Minnesota loss equals a Rockets win. This game was a good old fashioned thriller. Despite his throws, Patrick had a great game, including a monster block in the final minute. It was great to see him play live. I was ready to jump down into the lower area, rush the court, and b****-slap Wally Scuzzbag to no end. This guy couldn't miss. This felt just as good as a Rocket win. With the Rockets winning tomorrow, we will be only 2.5 games back, and 1 ahead of the Sonics. Whew, Key arena was rocking. The Sonics have some pretty good fans, I have to say. You'd think it was game 7 of the western finals, the way they were cheering. What a game. And a huge lift for the Rockets. ------------------ Hakeem "The Dream" Olajuwon is the greatest player in the history of basketball. If you disagree, you are not a Rocket fan.
Granted, Ewing bricked a couple of free throws in the last 20 seconds, but he was 8-14 for 19 points, 10 rebounds and a crucial block in the final minutes that helped Seattle win the game. Without Ewing's performance last night, it is doubtful Seattle would have won. ------------------
