Well said. I've thought that about way too many posts around here.

How about when he was setting up to go ISO on the left side, waited, read the defense and although he was guarded 1-on-1, selected to pass cross-court to JJ for an open 3? Now, that was a first also. The old CAT would have gone with the ISO play.

Are you still mad about all of your posts being irrelevant nonsense? Still spinning?

From what i saw, Damon scored in little flurries whenever he decided to score. The only reason he didn't score more was because he wasnt really trying to, ala Rasheed. He just had little spurts of scoring throughout the game, and on all those spurts, he made Francis look silly.

i slammed mobley all of last year, because he would look right at Yao with the ball, and not pass, and not even use his pick...

the last ten games have been different...not only is he making timely passes, he is re-passing to Yao for a repost, something many of this board has been begging for him to do for a long time...

many of us have noticed mobes has made some big shots this year, this is great as he has the propensity to do that, but let me point out, it has a lot to do because of Yao, who draws double teams and passes out to him for wide open threes, in addition, mobes is using Yao's high-post screen more...

Nice to see that you've recovered from what must have been a catatonic state of denial after the detroit game....

What's irrelevant to this thread, and illustrative of your agenda, is your kindergarten level bash. On that note, adieu.

That's funny, I didn't think this so-called, "tremendous defense" would allow players like Dwayne Wade, Speedy Claxton, Raul Lopez (twice) and Earl Watson to out-play him. And that's just the tip of the iceberg. Don't forget the likes of Steve Nash, Mike Bibby and Damon Stoudamire (twice), that run circles around him.

But I guess you see what you want to see!

Francis is not a lock down defender. Against the billups, Marbury and Davis, we ran double teams. In fairness to Francis, he should not be required to stop those guys solo. But in the interest of honesty, it is important to recognize that he did not do it solo. He did get torched solo by the Lopez and Watson's of the world, which should not ever happen.

Get off that childish high-horse (pony) of yours. There really isn't a need to turn every single thread into a Steve-bashing one. "You only see what you want to see" also applies to the other extreme, of which you are a part of.

That comment was made in response to others trying to dispute my point. I will remain on my "high-horse" until someone knocks me off.

So in the meantime, if you want to combat my points with weak comments too, I will be more than happy to prove you wrong as well.

The point was that your point was irrelevant to this thread at the time you made, and has the stench of a gratuitous bash in an otherwise intelligent and decent thread; the kind which I've seen you do on more than one occasion.

If you want to continue your demagogical campaign, that is your prerogative, and I can't stop you. So be a pal and kindly put it in one of the 500 or so bashing/praising Steve Francis, I'm sure at least one of which is on the front page right now; doing it here just reeks of a cheap ploy for attention.

About as irrelevant as someone praising Steve's "tremendous defense" in a thread about Mobley. But that doesn't matter to you; you would rather try to police the reality. You like to police?? I've got a little policing for you: Why don't you stop bumpin' your gums, and chime in when you have some validity to your posts. Get over the fact that I dismantled your weak posts and stop crying every time someone mentions the harsh reality about Francis!

this was and still is a great thread. its good to see some postive posts. Lets stick to the subject of Mobley's improvement and not degrade it to the levels of some of the other threads.

Francis said Pettitte would have to make some adjustments. But as far as the fans on the bbs go, Francis said he figures Pettitte would handle it all well. He did want to pass along a little message, though:

"If you're considered the best player on your team and you don't score 20 points a night, people think you're not playing good (even though) your record is way better than it was last year," Francis said. "So you better be on the lookout for that. But if you win, everyone but egn will talk about you good. If you lose, they'll want you to give your $10 million back. So good luck."
