Don't people ever get tired of saying this stale, imaginary cliche...? If refs really do make blatantly bad calls, it's unlikely that it evens out. If they made consistent calls, it would be a helluva lot more likely that things even out.
How is Scott Foster still in the league? This guy is hands down the worst referee in the league. Never forget: http://www.foxnews.com/story/2008/0...-donaghy-phone-calls-to-second-ref-raise.html http://www.baltimoresun.com/sports/...t-foster-shaun-livingston-20160510-story.html
Why not have the ref do their job and not have things even out? But hey its Adam Silver's league now, its getting faker than WWE.
I'm not a fan of power tripping referees, but i see far fewer instances of refs going nuts than instances of NBA players complaining and b****ing about calls. Maybe a few years ago this was just the clippers or a few other teams, but now every game, every team i watch has endless b****ing and complaints by players to the referees, to the extent that they don't run back on defense or aren't focus on anything else for the next couple plays.
I don't think they are "screwing us" every game but these past few weeks have had way too many questionable situations. You win some and you lose some, that's the way games go but when you have Smart clearly throwing himself to the floor in the Boston game and then Austin Rivers getting the James Harden treatment its hard to just look away. Just tonight Loollard threw himself towards Gerald Green and got the call, every night something like this happens. I'm just saying its happened to The Rockets way too many times in a very short period of time. I don't think the refs are out to get us, or that there is a conspiracy but we've been on a bed stretch of awful calls. I'm sure we've gotten away with some too but some calls are straight wrong and we shouldn't turn our heads on them.
They changed the way certain calls have been made historically going into this year in some sort of directive given out to the refs. Some targeted ones have been: - Travelling - Continuation - Hand Checking - Landing under a shooter - Offensive fouls Then there was also the Harden specific one that went out, which had some overlap: - Continuation FTs(lay ups) - In/not in Shooting motion FTs(jump shots) - Push offs (Yes this was actually done to target Harden, Bobby Marks tweeted that the league reviewed film of him doing it to crack down on him) It seems like there were too many changes made at once and now the refs have horrific internal lack of consistency among each other.
The refs almost took this game from us again. Once on tucker got a tech I thought we might lose. But they were calling fouls on Capela as he was trying to lay it up a couple times. Same with Erick. Glad we got the W. Glad the team stop arguing and just played even though it was 8 against 5. They kept calmed and we kept playing that is what was great in this win Btw Harden would have never gotten that continuation that lillard got.
refs have been noticeably horrible this year players have been complaining a lot this year too...the worst is when they are arguing about stuff that is just blatant I saw this quote from Draymond Green the other day... "They can get a new crop (of referees), a whole new crop," Green said. "Too many personal things going on. Too much me against you. It just don't work that way." tensions between players and refs are high...I can sort of understand tho if I were a ref, the players constantly complaining about stuff when they obviously committed a foul or some other violation would get on my damn nerves players constantly cussing u out and talking to u reckless...at some point I’d be like “man, fck u” refs making constant mistakes and missing calls left and right...it has been bad this year
Harden hasn't gotten the continuation Lillard got this entire season. That **** pisses me off smh. Also Harden gets called for that hook move Lillard did for an offensive foul this year too.
Draymond Green is the last Mfer I would want talking about refereeing. He is lucky he doesn't get tossed every game with his b****ing antics any time a whistle is blown his direction or not blown. He is a joke and the reason the referees naturally hold grudges.
No. I think NBA refs make bad, game altering calls in tons of games, not just the Rockets. I think we were screwed out of the Clippers and Celtics games, though.
