President Trump is starting his official day much later than he did in the early days of his presidency, often around 11am, and holding far fewer meetings, according to copies of his private schedule shown to Axios. This is largely to meet Trump’s demands for more “Executive Time,” which almost always means TV and Twitter time alone in the residence, officials tell us.

The schedules shown to me are different than the sanitized ones released to the media and public.

The schedule says Trump has "Executive Time" in the Oval Office every day from 8am to 11am, but the reality is he spends that time in his residence, watching TV, making phone calls and tweeting. Trump comes down for his first meeting of the day, which is often an intelligence briefing, at 11am.

That's far later than George W. Bush, who typically arrived in the Oval by 6:45am. Obama worked out first thing in the morning and usually got into the Oval between 9 and 10am, according to a former senior aide.

Trump's days in the Oval Office are relatively short – from around 11am to 6pm, then he's back to the residence. During that time he usually has a meeting or two, but spends a good deal of time making phone calls and watching cable news in the dining room adjoining the Oval. Then he's back to the residence for more phone calls and more TV. Take these random examples from this week's real schedule:

This piece of trash had the nerve to accuse other candidates of being "low energy".

That may be (he loves(ed) pointing fingers) He is obviously overweight and older for a first year president. You would expect this.

Unsurprising. I think the take away from this is that maybe the position of 'president' is not all that important
That the country can work without having one . . . in fact may work better than having a bad one

The country is working IN SPITE of him nowadays . . .where as other presidents drove the country.

So he golfs more than any president, and when he's "working" he barely works, taking frequent breaks calling it "Executive time".

Greatest president ever. He is not just smart, he is a super genius, so he does need to read or understand anything, he knows everything already.

Honestly, I don't think Democrats mind Trump golfing because the less he's actually working; the less damage he does to the country. Trump should always be on vacation and never work.

Republicans don't mind Trump and won't impeach him because he's a useful idiot who will sign anything they put in front of him; including unpopular bills. He will take the blame and be the fall guy when it's all said and done. He's easy to control and relatively predictable for Republicans, since all they have to do is make him feel good and compliment him; and he'll do whatever they want.

Basically Trump is treated like a real-life child king. He reminds me of Joffrey Baratheon in many ways.

Like all things Trump, he never fails to disappoint. That's actually a good day for him (or is it a bad day? who knows) and now it's just 11-4.

On the one level, I want to say it's good because obviously Trump is an obviously a mental defective and not competent at making any decisions whatsoever.

On the other hand, it leaves an unelected cabal of shi-theads in charge of day-to-day decisionmaking in what is a de facto coup.

Can you imagine what they would've said about President Obama if he'd spent every day like this?

Isn't this a good thing though? Actually, let him take a cruise around the world for the remainder of his presidency, or just let him spend all his time golfing.

Its very possible that this "executive time" is by design by his cabinet. That way when he comes into work, they have a chance to have things already cooked up where he is essentially kept out of the decision making of the direction of the day, and his responsibilities. I bet his cabinet and the GOP leadership would rather him be just a photo op & signature president only if they can keep it that way.

Unfortunately, I don't think that's so. He might not be putting in much work on the nitty-griity, but he does seem to be driving an agenda on WH action during his executive time on the can. He changed our relationship with Pakistan during his executive time. He threatened nuclear war with North Korea on executive time. Same on Jerusalem embassy. Those issues might have been teed up or worked on by advisers before he pulled the trigger, but he pulls the trigger without anyone exerting much control or vetting. Also, from our experience of Trump campaigning, I do think he does a pretty good job of finding these issues that people are not talking about in conventional forums that nevertheless resonate with his base, from the wall to NATO to trade agreements. I do think surfacing these issues of resentment is something that he's good at. And that executive time is his opportunity to do that and drive policy thereby.

or a better explanation is that these are these the items his clown handlers also happen to approve of so they don't bury them like the other absurd requests. And of course there's the things they just invent on their own, like Jeff Sessions' 1-man anti weed crusade.
