A couple of things. 1) Brad Miller is having a great year. Who would have thought he would have fit in THIS well in the Kings system? When Webber gets back they will have a nice forward/center rotation. Brad Miller deserves to be on the all star team this year. 2) The All Star game is in LA this year. I am sure there is a VERY good chance Yao will be VOTED the starter by the fans...hope he does not get booed too much at the Staples center. Just a quick tally on potental West all star team Shaq, Yao, Dampier Duncan, B. Miller Garnett, Nowitzki, Marion Bryant, Francis Marbury, Nash It will be interesting to see how the fans VOTE for the new Lakers Payton and Malone. Will them being on the Lakers and on a more global scare boost their vote totals up more than that last few years? And how about Carmello Anthony? He is EXTREMELY popular. But will he be popular enough to move Garnett and Duncan out of the Forward lineup? Doubtful. Melo does not make it unless he is VOTED on, which I doubt he will. (I believe LeBron WILL be voted on the East starters however). Francis is not having a great statistical year (compared to previous years) so it will be interesting to see if the fans continue to vote him the starting PG. Anyone know when we get the first Ballot returns?
Who gives a darn about who makes the All Star game?! Winning is all that matters and as of today the Rockets are in first place in the most difficult division in the NBA. Isn't that enough for you "pointless detail" obsessed people?
LOL. If the voters or coaches see this "highlights" (posted right beside Yao's name: http://www.nba.com/allstar2004/asb/eng/ballot.html) before they place their vote, there'd be no doubt Yao gets in before Miller gets his chance. Cuz there's a HUGE block against BM by Yao in the "highlights"!! It was funny the commentator said "it's not a block; it's an attack!"...LOL!!!
Miller is a slighty-above average player having a good year. That does not merit all-star contention. Dampier is a slightly-below-average player having a slightly-above-average year. Big whoop. He technically plays the C position. Who cares? Incidentally, who gives a crap? Until they fix the all-star team, it's worthless. Fan voting is absolutely meaningless, except for the purpose of increasing the spectacle. I'll care when: 1. They install objective criterial. 2. It's done solely by coaches vote. Let's vote Dampier in, and lobby hard for Miller to be the back-up. If we can get both Yao and Shaq excluded, the fan vote will be even more discredited!
A brain filled with milk cannot really think. He should apologize to his own mom. Back to the topic, Brad Miller starts every game as PF with Divac as C.
I am a honky. That is a racist statement, a true statement, but also racist. This honky says, give droxford a break, he apologized already and learned something he didn't know before. Do you think we should lynch him?
I have to say that based on merit alone, Yao is only a border line all-star. Same can be said about Steve this year. Based on stats, the following players should be considered ahead of Yao in the 4-5 positions: Shaq Duncan KG Zach Dirk The following people should be at about the same level as Yao: Miller Dampier Gasol Malone However, Yao will be in the ASG this year and every year of his career for that matter because of his popularity. The ASG is not a selection of the best players in the league, its a selection of the most popular ones.
I would say Britney Spears should be considered ahead of Yao because Spears plays well and at least they play in the same position: center stage.
has the voting started? How come I cant select player in the all-start voting page. BTW, that page is pretty lame. NBA needs to do a better job than that.
