The Guru sort of ends like this but that's the whole point of the movie. This appears to have to degenerated into a D & D discussion with the move to France comment.
Well, you did't get it. It was not an insult, it was an intentional mimic of your "maybe you..." In other words, I didn't, so you were wrong. Sorry to illicit the above childish reaction. Glad you liked the movie.
I thought it was excellent as well. A very good epic even if the story has been done many times before. In my opinion it should place in the top 5 movies this year.
As long as horses were involved, John Wayne had incredible range. What chops. Woofer, you are right about the progress. I was just messing around. I'm probably going to see this movie for the primary reason that I like Watanabe, and I want to see some large battle scenes for some reason. I'm hoping it will make a nice double-feature with Bad Santa.
Just saw the movie... It was awesome, and going on a weekday was really much more enjoyable. I was going to watch that Gothika movie, but havn't heard much bout it. Can anyone tell me if ther was a thread about Gothika
I heard Gothika sucked and the reviews wernt 2 good 4 it ether but i dont know if there was a thread on it..
The director romanticized the samurai way of life and battle in this movie. A movie critic even linked it to Al Qaeda. I think he has a point. http://www.crosswalk.com/fun/1234199.html
This movie was by far the best movie this year and possibly the last 2 years. I love movies and I own over 500 hundred DVD's and this was one of my all time favorites. Troy also looks like a winner.
Because he really can... or at least he could before he moved to Hollywood and started his Jabba the hut impersonation.
Dances With Samuri's was pretty good, mainly because of the Japanese actors. One question though, how did they get away with tripwireing all those horses? Man they must have broken a few legs and necks. PETA ought to be protesting infront of every theater.
I liked the movie but I don't think it was one of the greats. The ending draged on a little too much and there was a little bit of a cheese factor. Actually, the more the film draged on the more cheese that came out. My main problem with it was I was expecting too much from it. Oh, and I couldn't help but chuckle when Tommy Cruise first put on his samuri gear. He just didn't look right and he was so serious about it.
Geez, you could have warned us before SPOILING the entire movie. Even though its been out for a few weeks, believe it or not, there are still people who have yet to see it. I just came in here to see what ya'lls impression of the movie was. Not to hear what happens at the end.
