Have you ever witnessed a spaceship explode in space before?

Both are completely explained using established force powers.

How do you know that? For all you know, Leia could be amazing at using the force, something she learned to use and master in the years between ROJ and TLJ.

I'm talking about books in the expanded universe and other media such as games that have been released and cartoons that are canon. Now sure, they've reconned a lot of that, but Star Wars fans accepted those things for a LONG time before that happened. So it's established that they will accept all kinds of ridiculous BS that the force can do.....but they draw the line at Leia (who is established as being "strong in the force") doing something fairly mundane by comparison?

If she was so powerful why didn't she (instead of Rey) move the boulders at the end of the movie?

Why play cripple mode when you can force your way out of anything? Especially when you're trying to save other peoples life and your own.

    Your logic doesn't make sense.

Not every force user has every force power....something that is already established.

He's the guy who at one point cut his own father's hand off in anger for suggesting he'd merely try to convert his sister to the dark side and was a split second away from killing him before he caught himself.....so yeah that's a guy that could see something that would make him angry or afraid enough to have a moment where he had a knee jerk reaction and almost killed his nephew as a result of what he saw before he caught himself.

It doesn't show you the "darkness inside him" but I took that to mean him considering killing his parents because that always seemed to be what Snoke was trying to get him to do. Luke sees him considering murdering Han and Leia it would be perfectly in character for him to react that way.

    I think it comes down to pacing. . . . .

Yoda has been practicing for over 800 yrs or some such and we never even see Leia with a Light Saber
Just like Rey besting Luke after she discover that the force existed about two weeks ago and he been studying for over 30 years

I chuckle at the fact that POE was responsible for killing 90% of all the rebels in the galaxy

Moving things using the force is pretty much the most basic ability for Jedis/Force users that know how to use it's power. Hell the 9 year old at the end of the movie can move a broomstick but Leia at age 70 can't move a few boulders?

Stop making excuses for things you can't explain properly.

What instances has Leia used the force in the movies, besides the space scene and communicating?

I saw it yesterday morning with a friend. A thoroughly average movie at best. Too much money spent on pretty special effects to be completely bad, but so hamstrung by terrible, boring writing to ever approach being good.

That's my point she hasn't done squat previously to this scene but people like Bobby make up these excuses as to why it's not impossible.

Let's just say Leah Organa is a strategian, has dormant powers (Skywalker Force) but was never really trained.

Everyone KNOWS the real life humans Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher & Mark Hamill wouldnt be around forever. Everyone KNOWS theyre not the feature players. But no one gets the sense that they came back to have their iconic characters ONLY relegated to being content just sitting at home in their pajamas eating cheetos all mopey and detached. They're all just gonna come back slouching around at Mos Eisley bar all drunk and washed up thinking back on the "good old days"? Or else whats the point for THEM, the story itself, AND the fans?

Carrie Fisher is being kept alive well past her expiration Weekend at Bernies style, and the eager Mark Hamill is reduced down to a deceased detached hermit. Continuity with the dead, removal of the living. Just feels like lack of taste there. But it "subverted expectations" though!

exactly. breh was such a badass at the start of the movie. then gradually seemed like an amateur prepubescent child crying at every chance because he doesn't get things his way.

quite unfortunate cus they build him up as some kinda badass in TFA. but then again, they build up so many things in TFA and then took a big diarrhea in TLJ. now i hope they kill off poe, fin, rose, and c3po early in the next movie. they're useless filler characters. also this movie could have used some noodz. i don't care if teh noodz doesn't make sense, many things in this didn't make sense anyway.

Saw the movie last night, terrible movie, 3/10. The star ward universe has been ruined without anything substantial added.
