Expose is a little harsh. But besides the obvious cp3/harden injury front, the biggest most glaring concern is clint capela and his availability.or someone similar ( the list is thin noel, maker, dj jordan) but as it stands today it is likely we go with just capela.. so its like the jesus bolt on a helicopter. Harden and cp3 feed off capela, that generates 3s. It all starts with capela. Jar jar is key to this all.
Agree. We need another big, for insurance in the playoffs. People only focused on Harden's melt down in Game 6 vs the Spurs. I remember that we were also hurt by the inability to get rebounds and the need for Harden to guard Aldridge. When Nene went down we did not have enough height. Of course Capela has developed a lot since then, but let us not cut it too close with the need for rebounding and rim protection. BUT ROCLKETS EXPOSED IS BEING HYSTERICAL.
If the Rockets won last night the narrative would have been "we don't need Clint, trade him while is value is high". We lost so we are exposed, SMH
This is why I feel we need DJ AND Capela if we are serious at making a run at it. PnR is vital to our offense and without Capela we are left with 35 year old Nene who ideally is your 3rd center.
We really need to adopt Facebook's laughing your butt of emoji. SamFisher's going all Lhutz up in here.
now that the rockets finally got that loss out of the way from this long streak, this is going to be a pretty big test for this team. everything was going just right but now with injuries etc, lets see how the rockets can respond. This is really how your team gets defined when things get a little tougher than usual
If by exposed you mean 3 key members being injured and a 4th fouling out, yeah... we sure got exposed alright. Dumbasses... And to think some wanted to trade Ryno and Capela for Melo.
I just think they underestimated the Lakers in the first quarter. Looking at their defensive effort they were just like they're going to cruise to 4th Q with a win by just throwing the ball from George R Brown center. Lakers players looked more confident like GSW and they were having more fun with a nothing-to-lose attitude and Rockets looked tired.
I don't want to adopt the sky is falling attitude. But do think we need some big that can catch a lob and throw it down. Just like Paul runs the second unit we need a second unit center to throw lobs to. So much of our game seems to be establishing that portion of the offense which opens the rest. Nene could then be a bench specialist for when we need strength. Several plays early last night Harden tried to get Ne some easy baskets and he lost it, pass never made it or he was stripped. We can't go over the top with Ne. Yea I know these kind of players don't grow on trees. But no Capella chops one of the legs out of our offense. Maybe there will be a big man in the trash heap come buyout time. That said I think last nights loss was coming. Too much farting around early in the game for the past few games against lesser opponents. Call it human nature. Thinking we could just flip a switch. Maybe thus loss will focus them a bit more. Of course no Capella, Moute and CP3 along with a sore Harden didn't help. I am GREEDY. I want 60+ wins since we are the oldest team to never have won 60. I also want a finals run.
Glad this streak is over just so we can stop focusing on what doesn’t matter (keeping the streak alive) and focusing on what does (Harden knee, Paul knee, Capela foot, Moute shoulder, Ryno brain, Ariza dribbling)
Ariza and Harden were both limping after the game. Morey needs to force those two to rest a game or two. If he doesn't say anything, they'll just play on because that's their mentality to always play. If a serious injury occurs as the result of not resting those two, I completely blame Morey because D'antoni is stuck in his old school way of thinking, "If they can walk, they can play".
I would have said inconsistent but that game was horrifically a one-sided joke. Outside of Harden we played like **** but we definitely played against two teams out there. The Lakers wisely bet they would limit the fouls on Harden. Yes he got a lot of FTs but he was fouled nonstop. Those charges were straight up BS. Most nights it goes both ways but there are always a handful that are blatantly bad.
