Curious, is a "brown" reporter someone from Brown University or is there a magazine called Brown?

Seems most of the threads you start are about race, skin color, etc. I suspect you believe you are succeeding in pointing out some type of hypocrisy "gotcha" against "libs" but in reality you are only showing more about yourself.

    Just a thought...

What was her pitch? Was it so original that she’s certain no one else pitched the same idea?

I don't know what you mean by "privileged", nor how it addresses the observation I made about why you tend to post about race. Its apparent you care little what people think of you through what you post, so i will let it go at that...

A brown reporter claims her story (pitch) was handed to a white reporter.

    Do you agree with her?

I'm on the fence with this one (she may be overreacting a bit). I worked at company where my "marketing" idea was "stolen" - as well as having some other ideas handed off to other employees. To me, that is the way of the world. Get over it and move on.

@Cohete Rojo. Thanks for the attempt, but how is anybody supposed to have an opinion on this? I don't know what idea was 'stolen' (if any) and no way to tell if the complaint is legitimate or not. And even if the complaint is legitimate, to take it from an idiosyncratic incident to a systemic problem stemming from racism is yet another hurdle of another magnitude. Why are strangers talking about this lady's career frustrations? I must be missing some big piece of the puzzle here due to my lack of twittering skilz or something.

you say you're on the fence with this one, but you did start the thread so you obviously have some feelings on it. and its a lazy thread at that...all you did was post a random persons tweet with no commentary or opinion of your own. and the tweet gave no info on this story...all i saw was a bunch of random phrases like "toxic masculinity" and "excuses of abuse".

im not even sure what this story is about or what her problem is. its hard to draw any conclusions on something off of one tweet from a random person with no context.

what are you doing here exactly? since its against the "liberal" ny times you wanted to post it?

    This.

I don't really see how anyone can have an opinion based on so little information.

    There are two claims:

    1. Her idea was stolen and handed to someone else, as opposed to two different people having the same idea.

    2. She wasn't given a chance because she isn't white.

Now, why should I believe either of these claims?

One freelancer pitched a story that was rejected and a staff writer wrote a story that covered the same broad subject matter (the work output of artists should not excuse their behavior). Much ado about nothing.

what makes you think he's privileged? Cause you assumed he's white?

Why isn't the mainstream media covering this major story? Such a travesty.

Oh, you spelled "skills" with a "z". Ok, nevermind.
