How does this guy still have a job?

He stood in front of a camera on live TV when every reporter in the basketball world had Dwight coming to the Rockets and told us that he was still very heavily considering the Lakers, when it was clear that the Lakers were the first team Dwight had crossed off his list.

this list doesn’t make sense to me...Eric Gordon has a 110 defensive rating

edit: I guess they’re referring to the team’s defensive rating when he’s on the court which is very good

We all wanted PG13 in the offseason even if it was just a one-year rental.

Now it's a different story. We are gelling. It's still a no-brainer to get him. But we have to very careful what we give up for him. Very few of our main pieces is dispensable without severely disrupting the chemistry we are enjoying.

PG is better then EG in every facet of the game except for shooting and more than half the board doesen't want to mess with "chemistry."Really??
Harden and Paul make other players look better than they are...DJ,Capela,reddick,Gordon,Dwight....basically any player who has played with them before.
But because PG doesent look as good playing next to the current MVP RW(what a joke) you think his skills have vanished? Just like Oladipo last year?
Our defense will become even better without sacrificing much on offense. To put it in perspective...PG can guard klay, stepth,KD or Green. Hes an Elite defensive wing ppl.

Dont get me wrong iam fine with EG staying and riding this out but if a superstar is available Id trade him without hesitation because hes the perfect asset. Playing a Career Year on a great contract.
Cons: 1 more year left after this so he will get paid soon, Injury prone, contract will derail us from acquiring a star in the summer even though attaching his contract could help us get rid of rynos.

He was the 1st to say Lebron going back to Cleveland. Ya'll hate Broussard but he's no worse than any other reporter who follows the NBA

I say no dont give up any "key" rotation players. Let' see what we can do first as is. If we need adjustments we should make them this summer. Now if they will take Bobby Brown, tarik black, etc make that trade.

Eric can drive and finish at the rim and shoot. He can pass too, and is an average defender. PG's main advantage is his height and defense.
There is a risk with team chemistry, thus I will pass up on PG. Eric's Utah
performance was under pressure. That has clinched his position for me.
A week ago, I was okay with trading EG for PG with some reluctance because of Luc's injury.

I agree, EG was ridiculously huge.

Can't trade PG for EG straight-up anyway, and that's the difference for me. If it's going to cost us EG to remove Ryno's ridiculous contract, that's 1 too many rotational player for only 1.

I guess we'd still be better w/ PG on the roster, but we'll have less rotational players who can either come off a screen on high PnR, or set picks for one.

With the league basically ignoring moving screens nowadays, high PnRs are crucial to our team. It's also crucial for GSW too.

    Don't believe "Sauces".

But would trade EG and filler for PG. When it's time to face GS, PG can cover many more of their guys on switches. And if PG leaves in the summer, all we have to do is move Ryno and PJ to clear space for LeBron. Even if we never get LeBron, you're at Harden's peak and how much time does CP have left at this level? PG over EG in a win now move.

While I like PG13 and always have, and he has been the best of OKCs Big 3 this year, his potential to disrupt our locker room and bolt this offseason has me more pass then “yass”.

If it were possible for Ryan and future 1st? Yeah absolutely. Sign me up and if he walks it’s cool because we have flexibility for a lebron chase.

For Gordon? Nah man, I don’t think so. He’s so damn important to what we do and so valuable.

Ariza? Why risk upsetting harden and cp3 and trade one of your biggest locker room guys and leaders.

I think PG13 is a theoretical perfect fit. He is the all-star version on Ariza. He fits our switch everything with long defensive wings scheme we employ. But there is severe risk.

Trading Gordon for PG would be the ultimate sell high, buy low move and I’d be all for it. Yes we risk chemistry and there may be an adjustment period that means sacrificing wins but the pros would be huge:

    1. For the first time ever we would have a LEGIT big three.
    2. Another “team USA” guy that Morey is high on.
    3. Pretty much the perfect wing compliment to Harden.
    4. A defender who could guard any of the Warriors best players.
    5. A high IQ guy who shouldn’t take long to acclimate in theory.

We have a tendency to overvalue our own players. EG is good but not PG good. The biggest problem would be we’d be undermanned at guard (could argue we already are) and overstuffed on the wing. But I think Morey’s MO is if you have a chance at a star you absolutely get them and figure out the rest later. Keeping EG gives us a historical regular season. Paul George is absolutely a post-season / Warriors move.
