He should just go ahead and ask for asylum from the USA. He's under prosecution for his political beliefs. I live right across Izmir and we got 30 university professors and doctors sneaking in the middle of the night in a small boat asking for asylum only last week.
i believe kanter still misses and yearns to return back to okc b/c erdogan would require ground forces in order to capture him there
Hmm, I think it's interesting on his support of Fethullah Gulen. I know there's been investigations into the money Gulen has been getting off US tax dollars for his US Charter Schools that some students are probably getting less than a public education from, then to add.. All the funded trips to Turkey for US reps using those US tax dollars. I'm sure Turkey government is just as corrupt though, it's a mess. Hell I know our US government is corrupt, hahah
Nothing worse than being Westbrooks teammate. U can lock me up at a mosque in Istanbul for 4 years. Very nice.
If you ever have been in a Turkish dolmush you would never wish for anyone to be a Turkish jail. Those things are packed and on wheels.
Turkey is imprisoning journalists and academics, and basically anyone who criticizes the president. I don’t think “corrupt” is a strong enough word. Say what you want about the US, but at least we still have freedom of speech, the press, and term limits.
True, I completely agree with you, corrupt isn't close to strong enough to describe what is going on in Turkey. I guess I was just meaning the US isn't perfect since I was calling out Turkey etc. But in reality the two aren't even remotely the same.
As much as I hate Kanter on the court, I respect him off the court. Risking his family and friends in his motherland but attempting to be the voice of his country Also, can we merge the @Carl Herrera thread with this one?
