You do know George is not staying at seasons end right? So they will trade him to get something in return that they can use next season. It might be a younger piece for a long term something we don’t have but either way they will look to trade him

Yep it’s a given he is off to the Lakers so In reality no one will overpay or even offer equal value to the Thunder

Exactly. They might have leverage. All depends. If they snag a 4th or 5th seed, I don't see anything happening with Presti/Morey.

More likely that Presti scalps some talent somewhere else and improves the Thunder before the Playoffs. He is no scrub GM.

the season is still very young. So no I don't know if George will end up leaving.

It's December right now a lot of things can change.

I think he'd fit well on the team if Ryno was the only key player we'd be losing but at this point Broussard has 0 credibility so I wouldn't get my hopes up. The report might have been more believable if it came from Potatohead.

Coincidentally, Chris Broussard is also a no-brainer.

I don't think there's any way he stays because they can't afford to pay him. That was always the reality that ppl don't bring up.

When u got russ making 35m
    Melo making 27m
    Adams making 25m
    Roberson 10m

There just isn't any room for a paul George 150m contract.

Doesn't PG have a no trade clause in his contract? If so, he can only get traded to a team he approves of. If that happens to be us, we have leverage.

    Melo trade flashbacks

Thunder are now .500, if they are a sixth seed or above around the deadline I doubt they trade away their best player. Yes, their best player. They are in the seventh seed and have played horribly, they probably can't see them playing worse.

For those questioning why Houston would trade pieces and potentially ruin chemistry, Morey did say they are going to increase their risk profile in the summer. I think that also means taking a risk on something that is currently working in the regular season for something that can work deep in the playoffs.

That said, there are pieces that could potentially balance out the Thunder (only have doubts about Donovans ability to utilize players) and give the Rockets a true big 3 making both teams better in a trade.

If we got the commitment from him, then I suppose I'd support it. But that's a huge if. If it was just Ryno, or even a long shot of Ryno and Ariza (who I know CP3 loves), I would agree. But Gordon and Tucker? Nah, those guys are too important for what we're trying to do.

I wouldn't even trade Bobby Brown for Paul George.

For Ryan Anderson and a protected pick is generous considering it's a half season rental. Doubt they'll get anything better for him anyways. Even then, while we would be much better offensively, we would be missing Anderson playing center in small lineups. Would have to use Tucker in his place.

Oh, and another good reason to go for it anyways is it will clear Anderson from our payroll and allow us to more easily go after Lebron in the offseason.
