Interesting tidbit about CP3's 2nd season with the Clippers

    In 2012/13 after 31 games in Chris Paul's 2nd season in LA, the Clippers were 25-6 and had a 17-game win streak going.


    Eerily similar to whats going on now, but that 17-game win streak was preceded by a 4 game losing streak, and followed by 2 losses in a row.

    Their team wasn't exactly bad....Eric Bledsoe, DeAndre Jordan, CP3, Blake Griffin. Pretty damn good team, but streaky as hell if you look at their schedule.

    The Clippers were 1-3 against the Warriors that year. The Rockets are 1-0 against the Warriors and we'll be 4-0 by season's end.

    CP3 with the Clips did not miss a month of the season during the 17-game win streak that year. He was also the only hall of famer driving every game.

    This year’s Rockets are 25-4 and on a 14 game win streak despite CP3 missing a month from basically the start of the season.

    They should/could have been 29-0 at this point had he been healthy......not kidding.

    Clips greatly overachieved on defense to start that year. They mostly had the same offense all season(110 ortg). Add in some close wins and you get that record.

    Paul joined the Clips in 2011-2012 season - their longest win streak was 6 games that year and finished 40-26 in the shortened season. I do see your point tho.

    Lots of differences between this team and the 12-13 Clips, however. To name a few:
    • Vinny Del Negro vs D'Antoni - no explanation needed
    • (4) 3pt shooting threats on the court at all times for the Rockets - spreads the court wide open
    • Rockets #1 in offensive rating and #6 in defensive rating
    • Clippers #4 and #8.
    • Previous season Rockets win% 0.67; Clippers previous season (with CP3) win% 0.60.
    • Rockets have Harden.
    I'm sure others can name more

    can OP compare the third part of James harden's 4th season with the Rockets vs the first half of his 2nd season with OKC?

    When we won the 12th win on this streak CP3 was quoted saying" i have won 17 in a row before but it didnt feel like this and we just at 12"
    So i guess you can say he likes his chances on this team better

    Touché but there's no guarantee that the GSW will make it to the Western Conference Championship. They're soft.
