what i want is a criteria. if the player turns the 15 win team into a top team..yes give it to him. 50 win should be close enough for a top 4-6 team.

mvp = what...most valuable to a team? most valuable to the league? best player in the league? statistical leader?

just saying this shouldn't be the reason someone wins MVP over harden.

Wins matter, and so does overall team success
FOX Sports' Nick Wright pointed out that the NBA's MVP award has gone to a player on a 50-win team that was a top-four playoff seed in each of the last 35 years. LeBron James, Kawhi Leonard and James Harden all meet the criteria, while Westbrook and his sixth-seeded Thunder squad will ultimately fall short.
The award has traditionally gone to the best player on one of the league's top teams, and there are plenty of examples where the best player in the league didn't end up winning it due to a lack of team success -- including Oscar Robertson, who finished third in the MVP voting when he averaged a triple-double in 1962 on a 43-win team.

Still frustrated to see that MVP standard is triple double.

Hardens never taken games off for injury but after being snubbed so many times he doe sn’t want to lose the award again, which I feel is part of his bruised knee insistence on playing. Ain’t worth it thougj

I agree. Both CP3 and beard does it. We pick which defender we want to isolate. So Kawhi guarding beard would not happen a lot.

The way LeBron is getting Trip-dubs now it appears he wants that award (and the media will hand it to him)

I'd actually prefer Harden to just play every game like he wants to win and not play for attention.

I honestly do not care anymore. Winning all of these games is much more fun.

I'll still be ecstatic if he wins it though.

In reality...this isn't the standard. The standard is "what criteria is easiest justification to give it to the guy we like the most", which unfortunately will never be Harden.

Harden gotta get his, man. And issall good, he ain't RW padding his stats to try to get it, so you know we gon win while he get it.

Another voter who doesn't have Harden as MVP.

Argument: Lebron is old so he should be MVP (3:55)

Lebron despite the Cavs losses, should be on top right now. Curry if he plays enough games but might be back in the convo. Hope Harden just lets it go and focuses on winning.

Lol harden has to play mvp level every night for the rockets not for the mvp trophy

Act like harden is some stat padder like westbrook

Nope, you clearly haven't been paying attention. Harden admitted he was gunning for MVP and started to play more minutes or stay in games because of it. This includes obviously going for stats too. MDA said in hindsight probably contributed to him being tired at the end of season. And playing for MVP, putting your focus on an individual award is clearly distracting to winning games, no matter how much you think it doesn't.

if it was distracting, then rockets could have won more than 55 games last year if harden just "focused" on winning?

howbout this year? what should our record be if harden wasn't "distracted"?

Just look up what Harden and MDA said and you’ll see.
