Its like we are running a cheat code on repeat.

Harden scores or puts the ball where the other players on the team can finish.
Again and again. And now CP3 does too. Over and over.

Capella scores pretty well when you give him the ball above the rim.
Leave Anderson or Gordon and thats a three.
Can't leave Ariza in the corner, or PJ or Luc and their D is sic.

and Nene, for when we need muscle.

I am seeing us laugh at other teams making great plays.
We just make more points then them, and as quickly as possible repeat, to expand it and expand it.

    What?

    Did I miss anything?

I've watched Harden's growth. I've watched CP3 for a decade or so. I've watched Yao and TMac, and Stevie Francis, and Cuttino, and Hakeem, and I stayed up all night the night Horry was drafted, watched Cassell and Mario finish games. Enjoyed McCray freightraining down the lane, lots of sweet lou for two. Sampson and twin towers. I've seen quite a bit. And I'm really enjoying what I am seeing this season. Its different, not like something I've seen before. It looks like Harden, DAntoni, Morey collectively found a cheat code, and plugging CP3 into it, giving it two brains and all the fine tuned parts, rim rolling, threes, and now D -- I still say, what?!!? I mean, I'm awed. And I reject the idea that "sure, just having seen CP3 play, knowing that he was good is the clear explanation for what is going on now. I mean, I see incredible players in this league, some teams with two or three of them, but what Harden and CP3 are doing in conjuction with some extremely well defined role players with pinpointly defined roles, is amazing. I'd go as far to say Harden and CP3 also are role players, they play the brain of this monster. Our team is synthesized into a singular entity moreso than most any other team I've seen including the LAkers and Celtics of my childhood in the 80's in that I don't think these Rockets stop to think, they just go right into it over and over with no shame. Not just winning, absolutely crushing. So I repeat, what?!?? is?!!?? going?!?? on?!@!@

To think I was nervous about this game. Then we got our typical double digit lead in the first quarter.

How refreshing it has been to see this Rockets team add a second deadly play-maker that eases the burden on Harden to such a huge degree. No longer can opposing teams' defensive game plan center completely around shutting down Harden by any means necessary and making the rest of the team do the scoring themselves.

Our offense has been really good for a few seasons at this point, though. Granted, we've reached even a higher tier of team offense with the additions we made in the off-season, but what is really making me feel the disbelief this thread is centered on is the team defense.

That first quarter defense was absolutely astounding, and the best defense I've seen us play this season. We gave them zero breathing room anywhere on the floor and completely locked down the three point line. Great team effort. Everyone was flying to the ball, and closing out on shooters immediately. Sadly, the defensive intensity didn't extend throughout the entirety of the game, but I was really impressed with the effort overall.

Our Houston Rockets are one of the top defensive units in the entire NBA? It's been such a long time, I hardly believe it.

What an unbelievably fun season so far. I haven't missed a single game, and plan to keep it that way.

    LET'S GO

Chris Paul always shows up in big games. He's known as a choker to the casual fans but the truth is, he's always put up great numbers in the playoffs, it's his teammates that let him down.

Couldn't agree more. The games his team lost, he has always held his own.

This game looked identical to the Charlotte game with different uniforms. The game was over by the end of the 1st. This is the solution to the Spurs every time, run their ass off the court. They are old and you blitz them. I watched CP3 do this with New Orleans and I watched him do it again. People are just numbed now to those 20-0 spurts. They are so powerful that they essentially break the game. The blinding offense with a few stops just turns into a black hole for the other team. They know they're dead.

The one area I would look to improve is to study the film and deny the Spurs their movement patterns on offense. Notice how they are in perfect position to post up or get the offensive rebound and put back by sneaking over. No solution is perfect but we can do better in negating their post advantage. We did do a good job of patrolling the lanes. They have a very rhythmic movement offense and even though they did not shoot well they seemed to be able to get whatever they want quickly. We need to disrupt that better.

The runs we go on are alot like the runs the Warriors go on when they switch an extra gear because they get stops and run. We are so familiar this year because of our new found defensive prowess and the offensive weapons we have.We can blow a team off the court in a 3 minute spurt. It's crazy.

I think what is special here is not individual accolade. We saw it last season as Harden plugged into his rocket supersuit w/ capella at the end of one sleeve and anderson the other, ariza, eric, etc. Now w/ CP3 we have a second central hub to the suit. And defensive extensions. Definitely something jammed during the bucks game. felt wrong it was so close

What I see is smiles. That's what I see. Harden and Paul enjoying the game much more than they did in their previous situation. These guys are having fun. They didn't know it could be this fun. These two are co-dependent and I am ok with it. This should be a fun ride barring the I word. Tuck and Moute's defense is exactly what the doctor ordered. Capela's improvement. Nene is happy. Ego has added some dimensions to his game. Even Ryno asserting although his home 3pt % is only up 2 points from last year.

I am not sure I like playing only 8 guys though. Would be great if come trade time we could get a sniper to reduce some main guys minutes or even allow them to sit out some lesser opponents. And/or another big for insurance although Tariq might be that guy. Needs to improve free throws..

But maybe.. just maybe we crack that 60 win mark. We are the OLDEST franchise without 60 wins in a season.
