I read this in today's Ann Arbor News. We all know that he is in the committe for the current job search for our lowly basketball program up here but apprarently Michigan AD Bill Martin also approached RT about coaching the Wolverines. Here are some quotes from the article: "I'm very happy where I'm at...But I would never rule out something like that down the road...you never know. You should never close the door to anything." Just thought it might be something interesting to you guys.... ------------------
How arrogant of the UM athletic director. You're program isn't as prestigous as you think. ------------------ "norm, would you like to buy an indian scalp ? This deal isn't gonna make or break me Norm, so don't jerk me around." Harry Carey "Norm, if I had a mohawk scalp, I wouldn't be sitting here talking to you."
How is that arrogant? He simply asked one of the school's alumni, who just happens to be a pretty good basketball coach, if he wanted to come home. It'd be stupid not to ask. ------------------ www.swirve.com...The reason Al Gore invented the internet.
If anything this is a complement to Rudy T's coaching abilities. Actually, even Rudy T said in that article that he knew the question was coming. It's ironic that the school you call not so prestigous produced one of the best players in the NBA that we - the Houston Rockets fans- would love to have now! Can you say CWebb! Don't forget Maurice Taylor either. ------------------
There is no doubt taht it's a compliment to Rudy. But, the Houston Rockets and Houston have treated Rudy like a native son. This is his home. If it isn't, then he's insane to have lived hear for 25 years. What Rudy is to UM is a high-profile graduate. Imho, alot of colleges think that the prestige of their program makes any move to their program a lateral move at best. ------------------ "norm, would you like to buy an indian scalp ?
