I don't think he's dissing Blake Griffin and Deandre Jordan, though- or even someone like Jamal Crawford. I think what he means is that, even when those players were playing great, they relied on Paul to set them up. It's kinda like what I remember about the 1996-1998 Bulls (and no, I'm not comparing us to them overall, just this one aspect). You had 3 guys who could, and did, bring the ball up and set up the offense - Jordan, Pippen, and Ron Harper. Who did you have on the Clippers that could do that? Really, only Paul. I think he's relieved that, not only does he have good shooters around him like Anderson and Gordon, he also has someone who can bring the ball up, set up the offense, etc. And it is good at times to have a guy who can take someone one on one- obviously, passing is good- but you have someone like Harden who does his 12-dribble thing, then gets off his shot- gives the other guys a few minutes to rest. Maybe that's one of the reasons they're effective- and also one of the reasons D'Antoni doesn't mind playing them extra minutes. Due to the way the rotation is staggered and the presence of 2 playmakers, maybe they're getting those few minutes of extra rest on the court that translates to them being able to play a few minutes extra w/o it bothering them. Plus, with Paul, being out so many games, I think he welcomes playing a lot of minutes (although I do agree with many that he shouldn't keep them in in blowouts).
Yes, I agree. (BTW, it's "complement"- man, I feel like such a dick for saying that- sorry, it's a bad habit)
Exactly this year of 2017 and playoffs that were played on such year, Paul got weak help. However for the 2017/18 season Paul and Harden will lead like titans, and duke it out. Will they win it? Well that’s why they play the game. But I doubt Paul will be saying he didn’t have help this season.
What I like best is both guys let their "I'm an NBA superstar" masks down for a minute. That was just two regular dudes having a sh*tload of fun.
Wouldn't the term "complemented" imply that our roster was already championship caliber last season? I believe the poster's intention was to denote that Tucker, Luc, and CP3 were our missing pieces--hence they "completed" our roster that currently looks championship worthy. edit: Nevermind. I saw the instance you were talking about lol
So you want to get rid of Gordon, capela and harden now? Or have you backtracked on 1-2 of those? So trade capela for deandre? Gordon for Blake griffin? Surely cp3 could win a chip with deandre and Blake?
CP, but he never had help like Harden. Griffin is a great play-maker for a PF, but Harden is just an elite play-maker regardless of position.
It's been hrs since this was posted. No "I am irked thread" about EG not doing whatever. I am disappoint.
Who are you? Why are you even posting a Rockets forum? Can't you take this crap somewhere else? Does Max Kellerman have a forum?
