Maybe I sound cold-hearted, but people who fall for this ridiculous scam get what they deserve. There is no such thing as free money, how hard is that for this lottery-loving society to understand?
Exactly. It's not just 'free money' You are explicitly told you are participating in pilfering cash from the Nigerian people. I'd never do it. again.
Have seen that website where some guy screws with the Nigerian scammers? He put up all his correspondence. He takes on stereotypes, redneck, old people, etc. and plays dumb. One Nigerian scammer actually sent him his picture for "trust". It's f'ing hilarious.
Can someone give me a short explanation of how this scam works? Honestly, this is the first i've heard of it.
Honorable Sir Charles I would be very much blessed and consider it to be a great honor to explain this exciting opportunity to you. But first, I must please have your Passport photo, Social SEcurity Number, and bank acccount number in order to verify that the draft the documents for this ekksiting transaction. Please post them in this thread at the earliest opportunity and I will begin working on the documnetation before the bank forecloses on the estate. Forever in your debt, I am SF
A year? If I remember correctly (from what I've read... I'm too young to have seen it myself), this scam has been around since the early 80s.
I just clicked the link, that dude was drawn in completely. How do you piss away 400K like that? They guy even went traveling the Middle East looking for his money? I should feel bad since the guy is 73, but if you are at that age and have 400K sitting around, how can he have any "problems" as the article says he was trying to solve with the expected pay day? That poor dumbass.
I have only heard of it since around 92 or so. maybe 93.. I cant believe some people still get sucked in, and that some havent ever heard of it.. I guess if you dont read or listen to tech news...you miss tidbits like this.
