So that 1) we do not have to have all those mindless posts and 2) people can start to appreciate his talent/efffors/contribution after he is gone.

    Ha....

Trade Francis threads to be replaced by:

"Fire CD for trading SF!" threads

    and:

"Wierd, trading Francis didn't make us a playoff lock" threads

Me too, although for completely different reasons (eg I want the Rox to win, I can see that he is horribly overrated, his trade value plummets every time his is worked over by the likes of Raul Lopez and Mo Williams). :p

I hate fans that go at Steve Francis like this...

Here's why Steve Francis is pivotal to the Rockets:

    1. Provides a consistant double team target to other teams other than Yao Ming. Watch when he gets the ball at the top of the key, Francis is either double-teamed or the center comes up to backup the guard playing defense, leaving men open on the wings or down low.

    2. Steve Francis is a tremendous ball handler. Late in games, if we are down by 2 points, the ball needs to go to Francis, as evidenced against Utah last night. He can break to the bucket by sheer will, and generally gets fouled. With an 83.2% ft%, he converts those situations. Now who else on the Rockets team can do that? Mobley? Sure, maybe once or twice a game, but Mobley lacks consistancy driving to the basket, often times taking terrible shots.

    3. Steve Francis can rebound, and plays excellent defense. Nuff Said.

Now, what I will say is that Francis needs to be moved to the 2 position. But, and I mean this, if you trade Steve Francis, Mobley will not score, since teams can just pressure him, with no one to watch driving down. More importantly, Yao Ming's game is over, since he'll be the subject of constant double teams.

To be frank, SF3 is not the hell of ROX's loss.

The problem of ROX is due to the weakness of PF and SF. CATO and JJ could not score consistently! If they (together) could contritute 20+ per game, ROX will win a lot of games. YAO would be very comfortable in the paint. Of course, SF3 or CAT may have damn assists each game.

ROX's PF may be the weakest in the western division.

Nuff said to show you know **** about basketball. Steve Francis plays excellent defense? Just about as much as Yao is plenty agressive, and Taylor is a demon on the boards.
