yes, it's super sad. There had been some progress from what I was hearing. I think the more progress that is made, the more desperate terrorists are to disrupt and make a stand. High profile attacks will serve to help bolster the numbers at least somewhat.
Al Shabab is up there with DAESH in being horrible. You're probable right that they will do what they can to disrupt the progress made in Mogadishu. In Minnesota there is a large Somali community that has also had to wrestle with Al Shabab recruiting. Many here are very worried about what's going to happen now.
