In that case, I apologize for my earlier post. It was written before I saw this one.

Who they go to bed with??? Whose a$$ did you pull that one out of?

Affirmative action has its place in our society. As long as "legacy" applicants to universities get preferential treatment, minority applicants should as well. As long as the "good 'ol boy" networks continue to fill companies with intolerant white men, affirmative action is not only good, but necessary.

In case you hadn't figured it out, gay people are just as "normal" as you and me. They just prefer to have sex with their own gender. It might be difficult for you to accept, but homosexuals are just as deserving of the sanctity of marriage (civil unions if you prefer) as you and I.

I agree with you that we should not tolerate illegal immigration, but I do believe that we should have considerably more liberal immigration laws than we now have.

You are dead wrong on this issue. I will agree with you about guns, but the right to vote is something that I do not believe should be taken away from anyone permanently. Felons serving time should not vote, but once they are released, they are as much a part of society as you or I. How is someone who chooses to use cocaine as an intoxicant over alcohol less able to make political choices than you or me?

He is asking for a balanced budget for crying out loud!!! He is advocating a simpler system of taxation, which you have written in favor of on several occasions. He wants to repeal the Bush dividend to the rich, but that is something that needs to be done.

So, you would rather have environmental policies written by puppets of the polluters, huh?

You are obviously out of touch. I am not even a Democrat and I see a HUGE range of diversity on issues within the Democratic party, as opposed to the GOP, who ARE expected to toe the party line, as was shown in the thread on the Medicare vote. The GOP threatens members who do not toe the line, the Democrats support differing opinions. The only reason they vote as a block so much these days is because they have to offset the GOP bloc.
