The thing that is also interesting is people being more overt about it all. The guy running for office in alabama is basically telling everyone hes a creep but its cool cause he hates nobama.

This dude that OP is talking about is all ' i did it and what are you gonna do about it' in regards to what was going on and his actions. In old days that wouldnt have been cool either.

Btw - No one is disputing that extorting and sending private dick pics is cool.

Not sure if you know this, RR, but the members of the Fourth Estate who covered the White House while Jack Kennedy was president knew about his numerous affairs. It was a different era, in many ways superior to our own, in my opinion. Kennedy's public life and his private life were considered two separate entities. Their job was to cover his public life. That was how they viewed it.

Kennedy was far from alone in this regard. It was known that Eisenhower had a long affair during WWII when he was in Great Britain with the woman who was his driver. It was kept secret then and during the remainder of his public life. The reporters covering FDR knew he was crippled, but they kept it to themselves. Those are some examples.

As for Kennedy and "CIA wives," I'm assuming that is information buried in the partial release of files kept secret after his murder. What people need to understand about JFK is that he didn't have to "chase" women. They were drawn to him like bees to honey. His personal magnetism, his charisma was astonishing. So was his libido, from what I understand.

I was at Rice Stadium when he gave his "We're going to the Moon by the end of this decade" speech. You may have seen me mention it in posts a few times over the years. I was riveted. It gave me chills. I can only imagine what he was like close and in person.

Another aspect that had an impact was that the 3 men I mentioned, FDR, Ike, and JFK, were respected by most of the reporters that covered them, and they respected the office. The media itself, of course, was quite different. There were 3 networks and PBS, radio, dominated by those 3 networks, the press, both newspapers and magazines, some foreign news reporters from different sources, and that was pretty much it. Today the "news" sources seem to be both endless and ruthless.

Those same reporters would have cut Mr. Moore to pieces. Why? Because they would have had no respect for the man. In my opinion.
