the grizz are loaded with gaurds, so i wouldnt be surprised if they make another trade for a big man.

Another SG/SF for the Grizzlies? Are they trying to make all of their players a shooting guard/small forward? I guess maybe they think that Jerry West can calm this guy down some. Memphis is going to be tough in a year or two; hell, they aren't too bad right now...

 

Yeah Grizzlies are starting to look more and more like serious players for those 6-8 seeds in the west. Their team management definitely takes an active approach to team building. Maybe patience is always the key..........

No, the Rockets are NOT a potential trading partner for the Blazers, if that's the angle you were working for.

1) They're clearing cap space, so they're only trading for guys in the last year of a contract. The Rockets don't have anybody that fits that description

2) The only player I see the Rockets having an interest in is Wallace, who is ALSO in the last year of his contract, so the Blazers aren't trading him

I DO see this opening up a potential playoff spot, especially if Portland keeps trading their players away...

 

And he was already losing minutes to Battier.

 

Hubie's system is to run a bunch of guys, 11-12 deep for 15-35 mins each, always fresh, and wear other teams down, so another talent to add to the mix won't be as wasted as it would seem on a tradidional team.. And if you look, they're pretty stacked at all the middle positions ( 2-3-4).

 

What a crappy trade for the Blazers. I guess they were seriously wanting to get rid of Wells. Well, 1 down, 11 to go.

 

I'd bet the Rockets are perfectly willing to take on Zach Randolph, dope or no dope. .

Unfortunately, we don't have anything to give them except Eddie (expiring contract?) and Cuttino . They could take the "new" Cato back.

I'd also be willing to send the trade exception. That sort of does what they want. Perhaps we could help them unload a Stodemire or Patterson, and they could send us a decent player (D.A., Mc Innis) back in a seperate trade package.

You know what, though? There's a busload of expiring contracts out there. Our trade exception may not buy that much. I guess it will be worth more in the early summer, WHEN THE ROCKETS WATCH THE LOTTO BALLS AGAIN.

 

Well they did get a first round pick. It will be in the lottery too since the grizz arent making the playoffs this year.

 

That is a good move by the Grizz.

 

Depending on what kind of protections that first round pick has got, it looks like a good trade for both teams.

 

Ha! A guy I work with was trying to tell me that he "heard" the Rockets were trying to acquire Bonzi and that an announcement was imminent.

Of course, he also told me he dunked on Gabe Muoneke in high school...

 

Yeah I will take Zach - dope or no dope.
