Bulls added some size but...they already got Chandler and Curry............Toronto is even softer now...maybe they're banking on Mengke Bateer?
does anyone know if rose is going to play PG or SF for the raptors? wondering about alvin williams trade value on my fantasy team
This is one of those trades that could indeed improve both teams, since both teams seem to be filling a need. Toronto gets a big upgrade in scoring. They also have some other bigs on the team and trade possibilites to help replace the guys they traded away. Jerome Williams will give Chicago improved rebounding and defense at the PF and SF positions. I would guess he will play alot of Marshall's minutes. Antonio Davis will provide much-improved and needed depth at Center. Curry is inconsistent so far this year, especially defensively and on the boards. Chandler has been out alot of the year. Corie Blount is the only other guy capable of playing Center, and there's no doubt AD is a big upgrade over him. I see AD taking Blount and Baxter's minutes, as well as some of Chandler/Curry's when needed. I don't see any problem at all with scoring for Chicago. If anything, I expect the average to go up. Crawford, Hinrich, Gill, Pippen, ERob, Fizer, Curry, and Chandler can all put up points. Anything AD and JYD add is just a bonus.
great deal. I just traded baron davis and shaq Q oneal for KG and rose a few days ago in fantasy league.. now I don't feel so bad about losing davis. Anyway, I just glad to have KG! as for the actual league. it really doesn't matter.. bulls and raptors are going nowhere... crawford is still a poor man steve francis.. curry and chandler are still young raptors are still lead by vince
hpscc ...i don't know if you've seen AD play lately but his skills are nothing like what they were about two years ago when he made the all-star team....and that was his career year...he's old and plays D in spurts....plus he's never really had a shot....i think Chicago got screwed in the deal.....Rose will never be the superstar on a team.....he's like Pippin in the Chicago days..a sidekick....which is why he'll do really well with Vince....who is being double and triple teamed ever time he touches the ball...therefore there will be nothing but open looks for Rose....which he was not getting in Chicago.... also J.Williams can do nothing in this league other than be a decent rebounder and a great cheerleader...he is grossly overpaid for what he does... Chris Jefferies....is a joke....he would'nt even be able to make it as a Rockets water boy. like most of the people in this forum i think the bulls pulled out one of the worst trades i've seen...they got nothing in return. crossover Alvin Williams is gonna get better....keep him for now....he just had a really bad start...plus these new guys are gonna help him out by getting assists for him.
Everybody who thinks the Bulls got robbed needs to realize that basketball is a team sport. This isn't fantasy league. Portland loaded up on all-stars but never won jack. You need a cohesive mix of talent, hustle and teamwork to win. Anybody watch the Bulls 10-point home win over Milwaukee last night? The United Center was actually alive. JYD was all over the floor, AD was sticking 17-footers, and the Bulls showed signs of life under Scott Skiles. If you'd seen recent Bulls games, with surly Jalen walking up and down the floor, scowling while hoisting up bricks, you could definitely notice a palpable difference in energy in last night's victory. It's just one game, but I think losing Jalen Rose was addition by subtraction ... the guy is a tremendous talent but an absolute cancer to a young squad. I think both Chicago and Toronto did well with this move.
wizardball - The Bulls don't need AD and JYD to be starters or play major minutes like in Toronto. Rose was playing terrible on the Bulls. This moves frees up Crawford and Curry to step into major scoring roles, which they will likely be able to do at a higher field goal percentage then Jalen. Worked against Milwaukee. The majority of posters may think this or that, but the Bulls performance will be the indicator of how well they did. So far so good!
