... This man has FORGOTTEN more sports knowledge than you'll ever LEARN. Consider yourself "pwnd." Seriously, though, Keith Olbermann is an absolute sports junkie/dork (dare I call him a walking encyclopedia?) and a really nice guy to boot. Plus, we went to the same college, so he's got some great stories to tell. In fact, he has stories to tell about every subject imaginable (but sports are his specialty). Did'ya know that one of the "Sports Night" TV show characters (Dan Rydell) was based on him? Did'ya know that he single-handedly saved a college radio station with his donations? Did'ya know that he knows more about old school baseball cards than pretty much anyone else alive? This is why I love carrying around a digital camera that's always with me. Too bad I took the pic without flash, though, ending up with a blurry shot...
I wish he was still on ESPN. I miss him on SportsCenter. When him and Dan Patrick did it together was the best. I can't think of a SportsCenter combo that comes close.
I always liked Olbermann as he brought a weird, but somewhat sophisticated sense of humor and style to Sportscenter. As Fattie said, his partnership with Dan Patrick was great. They WERE the best Sportscenter duo ever. Vescey, I have always considered you a cool dude, but I definitely need to get your autograph now since you know Olbermann personally!! You rock, dude!
The guy owns pretty much the entire original T206 baseball set. I'd say that was pretty impressive. In fact, we made a T206 card of him. He comes around from time to time, hunting for old baseball images (which is what he's doing in the photo). He left the office a few hours ago to go do his show on MSNBC (*cough*8:00 PM EST*cough*). Another juicy tidbit: Craig Kilborn's smug and arrogant "act" is apparently NOT an act at all...
