    I have a bold prediction:

Within the next 5 years, dunking will no longer be the most badass finishing move.

It will be supplanted by THRUNKING, which is the act of going above the rim and throwing the ball down through the net, without your hand touching the basket.

I believe this will happen because only those players who get seriously vertical will be able to do it. Those players who can 'thrunk' will be very few and it will make them look super elite.

and for point guard 'midgets' not to be left out of the millennial revolution...

what about passing not directly with hands, but just bumping the ball off their ass?

so not just passing, but actually assing the ball right into a teammate's shooting pocket...

i predict that assing will be the next big thing in basketball.

Harden’s inability or unwillingness to thrunk is going to destroy his MVP chances. Bold prediction.

LMAO yall are cracking me up :D

"If at first, the idea is not absurd, then there is no hope for it." - Albert Einstein

"First it is ridiculed. Second it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident." - Arthur Schopenhauer

But seriously, check some of these out. It really does look badass and gets serious reactions. Whenever thrunks happen they are all over top plays/highlight reels:

P.S. while his inability to thrunk may destroy Harden's legacy :p;), it could pay huge dividends for Clint Capela!

Yes, I have a question... who coined the term thrunking, or is this a term that you're working on?

Good question. I actually first heard it several days ago on one of the ESPN shows (I believe it was Around the Horn) where they were discussing whether or not a thrown-in dunk should count as a dunk.

Upon a quick search I find that this term has been used since at least 2015:
For those interested, here is an insightful and in-depth article about the debate of whether or not a 'thrunk' (termed a throw-dunk in this article) should count as a dunk:

Funny. I don't know why the 7 footers don't just drop the ball in the cylinder more often, actually.
