First from the Houston Chronicle it was Los saying Cato really needs to step up and assert himself in Dream's absence, and in the same article Cato basically said:..No, the whole team needs to step up not just me... Now, Cuttino talked about how Dream's return should help the interior during the stretch and how the team "played tired" without the interior force (basically saying some of the key losses were greatly influenced by the weak interior of the team)... Again Cato rebutted by basically saying: No, it's the whole team on some of the past key losses. I have to admit, I can see both sides of the fence on this, but it seems the team is not ready for Cato, and is excited about the pending contribution of Dream!! ------------------ Cuttino: When you have thousands of people telling you, 'You can do it, you can do it,' it helps you out an awful lot.
Everyone should step up their game in every game. But when a player in your position goes down, that person really needs to put in a 110% effort and not to try to share the blame with everyone else. Cato is just happy with his big fat contract and doesn't care what anyone else thinks. ------------------ Nice guys finish last ... and im surely not going to finish last!
I probably would be against him to. I am just sick of watching him not step up on the defensive end. I could not believe what he said in the Chronicle today...it was a small section about defense being the key to winning, and it quoted Cato saying that he thought the defense was fine, and the Rockets need to work on hitting the easy shots. The defense is fine? Is he crazy?...or just stupid. Did he not see how Kandi-man was pretty much dominating him the other night? He started reminding me of Shaq for a while. If the Rockets played better interior defense throughout the game, and had some kind of presence under the basket, there would not be as much pressure to make the open shots as we would likely be winning the game rather than rallying back in it. If he thinks the Rockets offense is the main reason they are losing, then he shouldn't even be out on the floor playing. ------------------
Cato is against himself. From the Sports Illustrated article: "We need a dominant big man," admits oft-injured Kelvin Cato, now the starting center. "I don't know if my offensive capabilities are what we need." How weak is that? Old School ------------------ I voted YES!
Old School, I think Cato really aspires to be the backup for Kandi in Clipperville, just like his good friend... (you know that 7'er who got in the club fight against a crowd caught on video. what's his name?)
You speak of Kieth Closs. Its a shame, after his game against San Antonio, I had high hopes for Cato. Now, trade him for whatever you can get. ------------------ Founder and President of the Houston Homers Club(HHC) - Are you a homer? Join now! The Rockets will be NBA champions. Believe.
how do we get theo rat in a cliff in a rockets uniform ... i'd do walt and cato for theo he's a bad s.o.b who's got a good work ethic ------------------ "Wahooo"-homer I'm not only a fan but I'm also the bartender at clutchcity chat For the last time I'm not Tybrave!!!!!
That's kind of risky dont you think? Cato AND Walt for Theo? Are you sure you're not giving up too much? ------------------ Mmmm ... open-faced club sand wedge.
Cato has his second foul at the 7:30 mark of the first quarter, just like always. You could set your watch by it, huh jamcracker? ------------------ Behad Sergeant at Arms of the Clutch BBS
Honestly..I would do that deal... Walt hasn't been productive often enough for me to worry about losing him..we have shooters, that's not a problem. Cato, well what can I say without slamming a Rox player?(which i dont like doin) ...I would trade Cato's (few) pluses for Ratliffe's pluses any day of the week.. we can always go get another CBA shooter to replace the non-Wizard. ------------------ OK heypartner..are ya happy now?? I'm no longer "living in the past"
I was being sarcastic. Why would Atlanta want Cato and Walt for Theo? ------------------ Mmmm ... open-faced club sand wedge.
Even if Dream weren't coming back this year, I think that Cato's performance (I mean lack of performance) tonight, just earned him a prime seat on the end of the bench for the rest of the season. He had no energy, made no effort, couldn't catch a ball if you handed it to him, & got punked by Seattle. My biggest worry, is that other teams are starting to see his attitude & lack of effort on the court. We could have a very difficult time moving him, if this keeps up. Does anyone think that he was depressed, because Dream is coming back? What Cato needs to start doing, is become an intimidator. He can't shoot or rebound, but he's got the size & strength to push people around. So what if he fouls out. If he'd put a few of these guards on their butts once in a while, they'd think twice about coming into the paint. Oh wait, that would require that he make some effort & Lord knows the Rockets don't pay him enough to do that. My mistake. ------------------
Seeing Cato play like that really hurt me as I had high hopes for him when he came back from injury. I think he might be alittle jelous of Dream because he gets alot of attention and credit where Cato gets nothing (like he diseaves any ). I think he needs coucilling or something to help him get out of this, "everyones against me" idea he has and to help him just worry about himself. I hope he grows up and learns real soon! ------------------ Miggidy Markell says: 1. Eastcoast is da sh*t 2. Rockets rule 3. Hip/Hop is dope 4. Buy the new Ruff Ryders album! Cato has his second foul at the 7:30 mark of the first quarter, just like always. You could set your watch by it, huh jamcracker? True, but at least it got Carlos into the game a little faster.
