This weekend I was watching LET'S DO IT AGAIN starring Bil Cosby and Sidney Portier and said. . . I'LL BE READY TO KICK SOME ASS IF THEY EVER REMAKE THIS FRICKING CLASSIC!!!!! Started making me think . . .what other movies DO YOU FEEL fit this catergory Let's limit it to movie that are TOO GOOD to be remade rather than those that should not have been made in the 1st place. Old and Recent Of course Uptown Saturday Night is on the list ShawShank Redemption is one of the newer ones I think should be on the list . . . .. Rocket River
Usual Suspects - because if you know the ending already, it would not be that interesting to watch, and a remake could hardly be better than the original.
i was pissed a couple of weeks ago when i saw a trailer for a movie called "love don't cost a thing". the reason i was pissed, you asked? well... it turns out that it's a f'ing ripoff of the movie "can't by me love"... you know the movie about the geek that mows lawns and is really unpopular until he makes an agreement with the popular girl? this sucks... big time. that's like remaking "some kind of wonderful", "sixteen candles", or "adventures in babysitting". you just can't do that.
How about one that they're actually remaking? The Manchurian Candidate. That movie belongs in the sixties at the height of the Cold War, not in 2004 with Denzel (no matter how much I like Denzel).
The Cat in the Hat and any other Dr. Seuss story including "Horton Hears a Who" and "To Think That I Saw It on Mulberry Street". Good call on "The Shawshank Redemption", as I would go crazy if I EVER heard that they were remaking that movie.
The Wiz was more of a . . reinterpretation but really. . . NEITHER OF THEM SHOULD EVER BE REMADE As much as I don't care for the movie I think we can do without a remake of GONE WITH THE WIND either The original is as good as it is gonna get Rocket River
I think that has been remade and is due to be released in the next few weeks. Previews looked good to me.
It's supposed to be out on Christmas day...and I didn't really care for it based on the trailer. I personally liked Hook.
Not only should Pulp Fiction never be remade, but if Tarantino even makes a sequel as has been rumored, I'll hunt him down and cut off his schlong with a rusty butter knife...
Psycho. The remake was pathetic. It didn't scare me, it just make me laugh. BTW, Tarantino is overrated as is Pulp Fiction.
Ghost Dad Xanadu Gigli Paradise Alley Actually, the original copies of these films should be destroyed as well.
