I'm very pumped for tonight's game. I'm getting nothing workwise done today!
For my own financial well being I need this series to end soon..

Ready to leave work to crack open a nice adult beverage at a bar and watch the game!

I feel like I have astroids hurling into my stomach liner. Speaking of hurling, I can't wait to see what kind of tricks/treats Justin Verlander has up his sleeve.

Do you prefer watching a game in a bar as opposed to home? Personally, I don't want to watch a game of this magnitude with my closest friends. :)

I honestly don't care who's named MVP as long as it's an Astro. I'm leaning Bregman because he's had an rbi in every game and been absolutely stellar in the field.

Depends. With a game of this magnitude, I want to be out if the Astros pull it off and win. Obviously, it would suck if the Astros don't pull it off tonight. I'm only going with my roommate and he's a diehard like me so we get each other while watching the games.

I live in Denver and on one of my first nights out bumped into Astros fans and one of them owns a bar here called Society. We are 2-2 when I go to the bar, 0-1 when I watch with my boss. I've watched a few games from home, such as game 2 and game 5. I really am torn by this kind of stuff and my girlfriend thinks I'm crazy. I want the bar so I can potentially celebrate with other Astros fans. What say you CF?

My friends tryna get me out to downtown atx for halloween to watch this game but idk if i can.

Might need to be alone at home watching. Way too emotional of a game to have halloween 6th street nonsense going on every which way.

No way I could handle 6th street douchebaggery with this game. I can barely handle it on a regular day...and that's when I was young enough to enjoy 6th St.

6th is the last place I would go to enjoy sports, especially on Halloweens. Go to Lavaca St bar. Houston bar with tons of TVs

Think heavy favorites tighten up in an upset scenario.
Think everyone else when down can actually loosen up.

I don’t think the Dodgers saw themselves as heavy favorites. They should be loose and have little to lose at this point.

The Astros will be loose because even if Verlander gets down, they’ve picked him up twice before, they come back against the best, and they too have already survived disaster.

I can't imagine watching something this big on dirty 6th Halloween. I'm going to be home, frantically pacing the living room and ready to log on with all of you knuckleheads once the Astros win.

Especially in this series, numbers will never tell the full story. I think I'm going to "acquire" all of these games, so someday I can watch them again, and see all the subtleties and psychological changes and other intangibles that even the most detailed stats won't show.

    Examples:
A lot here think Bregman hitting his home run against Jansen in the loss in Game 4 proved that Jansen was not unhittable.
Bregman credits Springer's walk at the beginning of the 4th in Game 5 as being huge to getting those four runs going capped by Yuli's 3-run drive.
Bregman's defense has been exceptional and saved runs throughout the playoffs.
Springer cost Peacock at least 1-2 runs with that failed catch in Game 5.
But Springer coming back the very next half-inning in the 7th and leading off with a huge bomb surely had to have galvanized the entire team to put up four runs in that inning.
Devenski has a blown save, but he didn't make bad pitches on the two hits that led to the RBIs against him.
The home plate ump in Game 5 changed all sorts of things with the way balls and strikes were called. I bet Seager on the Dodgers considers said ump to be the MVP for the Astros in that game.

This really has been a wild series, and it's going to be worth a rewatch someday to really appreciate the true extent of what when on in these games.

I've been in a similar predicament here in Minneapolis. During the Yankees series I got a lot of support from Minnesotans because of how much the Yankees have owned the Twins. For this series though most Minnesotans don't care and I haven't run into any true Stros fans. I've won over some of my friends to the Stros side including one who is a die hard Red Sox fan. At this point I've given up on watching at bars hoping to find other Stros fans. I'm hosting a watch party tonight at my house instead.

One funning incident about watching the Stros. On Saturday night I was at a bar where a friend of mine's band was playing. I was watching the game at the bar while they were on stage in the main room. They gave me a shoutout from stage including mentioning about collecting donations and taking them down to Houston. This was during the 9th inning just as Giles was blowing it on the mound. I hastily acknowledged their shoutout but had to restrain myself yelling "Shut up I'm watching the Stros!"

As with any Houston team playoff games, I must watch by myself and contain my erratic emotions to one room.

Considering the Dodgers only scored one run, Springer's dive did not cost them 1-2 runs. As a matter of fact, we have no idea what would have happened had he fielded the ball as a single since LA would have had first and second with 1 out.

Devenski may have not made bad pitches, but 4 out of 8 batters reached against him. Anyway, his consideration is moot anyway since he hasn't done anything noticeably well.

While there have been questionable and inconsistent ball and strike calls, I an fairly confident neither team has a decided advantage.

Providing they win, it needs to be Springer simply to make the SI cover story from 2 years ago even more accurate. :)
