Well, we got something back, but irather have solid protection for my savior Watson now, than future picks that might yield garbage players. U have a savior franchise qb, u should b providing him the best protection.
I'm a fan of this trade. Brown burned his bridge here. This team is built for the future, not the present.
Regardless if the plan is for the future..... u need to protect the Savior Watson, having a downright 'offensive' line for a shtty cornerback / potential picks is pretty shtty if u ask me.
I’m happy with this. Duane hasn’t been the Pro-Bowl all world guy for a while now, he probably wouldn’t be on the roster beyond next year, and 2 picks, one rather high, is more than decent. Also, he’s been cancerous as of late, whereas before, he was a great locker room presence.
I hate losing Brown, but he made his bed in Houston and it was time for him to leave. Lane is a Texas boy and Lord knows we need help in the secondary. Getting a 2nd rounder in 2019 and a 5th rounder in 2018 is a very good haul. Although Brown is fresh now, missing all of that football conditioning makes him ripe for an injury. If we do something good with the picks, this could be a very smart move by RS--damn, can't believe I'm giving him credit!
Wow what a great move to improve this team Since no one can tell I am being extremely sarcastic. Hope Brown continues his great career in Seattle
We now have two 3rd and 5th rounders in 2018 and two 2nd rounders in 2019. This at least gives us a shot at moving up in 2018 if we want. Feel a lot better going into this years draft than I did yesterday. But if you told me back in 2008 that we'd get 10 years of pro-bowl level play + a 2nd rounder at the very end out of Brown, I wouldn't have changed a thing. That's as good as ROI as you can get outside of drafting a HOF caliber player IMO.
An DB who's always injured with 2 career INTs, So good that even when Earl Thomas went down on Sunday Lane only got 7 snaps. Here's the latest injury report on Jeremy Lane:
It’s really sad to see the hate he’s getting over opinions. He was a great player for us in every sense but the bridge was indeed burned. If the topic is football, he’s probably top 6 Texan at the lowest. If the topic isn’t football, I wish there were somewhere else it could go....
rarely do you get 2nd rounders for aging LT, usually teams just wait until they're cut. Duane has a good 2 seasons left. Best of luck to him. we can package one of those 2nd rounders plus the 2 3rda for a team with multiple 1sts in 2018, like Buffalo. And I hear Cleveland loves picks.
Don’t like his attitude at the end here, but ultimately a classy guy that gave us his best years and a couple potential good draft picks with his exit. Good luck DB!
