I agree Devenski looked rattled very early when he came in. It appears Musgrove and to an extent Gregerson seem to be more "even keeled".

In that it set the stage that any and every pitcher is vulnerable?

Yup, he eluded to that in the post game. Said he knew he wasn't going to give him another slider after he took him yard last game. He was dead set on the cutter, and thats what happened.

Yes and no. In the post game interview he said he knocked a slider out in game 4, so he knew he wasn't going back to it. Bregs sat on his cutter and won the game.

Nope, in that it was easier for him to figure out what pitch to expect or not expect next time he faced him.

A couple of others have already answered, but one thing the Astros have proven in these playoffs is that all pitchers are vulnerable to good hitters (except maybe Wood :) ). They had already gotten to Jansen in game 2. The 6-1 game was one of those where Roberts may be second guessed for using Jansen. Since he was already warmed up, it wasn't a bad decision, but it did help the Astros last night.

Every team they have played has a much better overall bullpen and three of the elite closers in the game. The more you see of them over a relatively short period of time, the more you get used to their style and pitch selection. This trend of using the bullpen so early and often may go away after this postseason. I still think Roberts main mistake this entire series was pulling Hill after 4 innings and 7 Ks and only 60 pitches. With the exception of a game in April, 60 pitches was the least Hill threw in any game this year.

Dodgers didn't give up any runs from the 5-7th. Odds are Astros score more against Hill than that as he tires. Can't plan on game going extra innings when you can get the ball to Jansen with a 2-run lead in the 8th, the same score Hill left the game. No way for Roberts to know the chaos that is the 2017 World Series and that his infinite supply of quality, great relievers would run out.

I had moments last night where it started some....just sitting at home watching with my sons....can't imagine anywhere else in the world I'd rather be than Houston, Texas, right now with my family. Only wish my grandparents were still here to see this.
