I’d like to tattoo John Smoltz quote on the forehead of every Astros pitcher and then emblazon it on their ass, “No walks.” I mean it’s really that simple sometimes. The Dodgers have been clutch, but they aren’t exactly dialed in like it appears.

yes it was to pinch hit since he just gave up that 2 run hr and then we had 1 person on base I believe, so he was kinda forced to sub him out

The funny thing is I dont really think anyone thought the bullpen could get worse, But they went out and proved it. Still, I love them for it.

Different situations will dictate that. Low or no runs in the 7th, someone on 2nd or 3rd with 2 outs and JV up to bat, think Hinch will pinch hit for him.

I'm not getting **** done at work today.

What an incredible world series. I'm so proud of this team -- no matter what happens the next two games.

Incredible show of resolve, support, and will to win. Our bullpen is a disaster? The offense takes it up another notch to make their amazing bullpen a disaster too. Clutch hits off the "best" bullpen and closer.

Outside of the whole racism thing (;)), hard not to love this team.

    LETS GO ASTROS!!

I don't know. Both managers have prematurely pulled pitchers in this series and gotten burned. As long as he's not getting lit up, I think Verlander will refuse to give up the ball to a reliever.

its only prematurely after the fact. whats to say if certain guys were left in and it only got worse from there. alot of us may not agree with some of the decisions but at the end of the day the stros are up 3-2 with 2 chances to win the WS, with our #1 guy on the mound next

Hinch can't pass up scoring opportunities if runs are hard to come by at that point of the game. Now if Astros are up 4 or more in that situation, Hinch will prolly leave him in there.

Something I haven't seen anyone mention yet - that throw from Ethier in left field was weak as heck. If that was Marwin, the guy would have been out at the plate. Thank Roberts for sticking a jelly-armed dude in left. That dying duck almost failed to reach home altogether.

well he actually had a ways to go from his original position to field the ball. Bregs ball landed in a great spot to allow fisher a huge start before the ball actually being picked up

With the bullpen being what it is right now, you almost have to leave Verlander in with any lead.

at this point, verlander is the one who is likely going to make the decision himself on whether he remains in the game or not. this is the moment he asked for

Give me a Morton McCullers tag team for game 7 if it gets there.

I’ve thought about this so much. It seems too perfect.

It will not be easy for the Astros to win another game, but of course I believe they will.

Honest question here.....Did Verlander have a reputation for showing up on big stages prior to big stages? Has he always been more the "Kobe" in big time situations?

Morton backs up Verlander right? MCullers/Peacock for game 7 if needed. Seems far better than whatever the Dodgers have left.
