I dated a girl who lived in the same city that Anna Nicole Smith worked at a Denny's in, and we ate there together.

I checked out Dales Earnhardt's groceries in my line back in '90. The only sig I got was on his check.

One of my great, great, great, great grandfathers on my mom's side is supposed to have been Robert E. Lee (not thouroughly thrilled about it... and man would he roll over in his grave if he saw my friends!)... while ironically, my mother's other side descended from William Pitt, founder of the "yankee" town known as Pittsburgh. And on my Dad's side, we had to change our name back in the Civil War because our great( x 4) grandpa let John Wilkes Boothe stay in his barn while escaping the scene of the Lincoln assassination... never been able to confirm any of these rumors or tales except the William Pitt one.

One of my cousins is in the S.H.A.P.E. unit in Belguim, and he has higher rank at age 26 than most generals of most countries... is that political?

I have another friend from college that works as a government web designer with top secret military clearance for a military contractor across the Potomac from the Pentagon... is that political?

I've got friends in low places too.

I also know the man that split the timeline into two pieces. Some of you mention Him in the game time chat room when the Rockets get a turnover. He's got more grace and mercy about than I do though.

 

I have met Ed O'Brien from Radiohead several times, and played cricket with him. He wasn't a bad batsman actually.

Patrick Ewing and I started a little business a few years back.

We made a lot, but we spent a lot too.

 

I know several professional athletes but since I got called out for name dropping in the Schilling thread, I'll keep them to myself. In fact I was having beers with one last night.

I did get to meet Derrick Johnson (linebacker from UT) also last night in Waco after the UT/A&M game. That guy is huge.

This is kind of long:
I know Senator (and former governor) Zell Miller quite well. He is one of the few politicians I actually like as a person.

My great uncle (deceased) was a Japanese fighter pilot who fought in WWII and shot down over 27 Allied planes over the Pacific as part of the elite Lae Wing, flying with the all-time greatest Japanese ace, Saburo Sakai, who shot down 64 planes! My great uncle survived throughout the Pacific campaign until the Phillipines, when his chickensh!t Shiden fighter plane's (a new fighter plane that was too late to influence the war) landing gear broke on landing and the aircraft exploded. According to my grandfather, his baby brother, my uncle was a very clever, funny guy who enjoyed practical jokes and had dreamed of flying from the time he was a very little boy. I wished I could've had met him.

The kicker for UGA, Billy Bennett, is my lst cousin on my father's side (son of his sister).
