You're exactly right. He owned the Astros... when we were starting guys like Matt Downs and Brian Bogusevic. Once we got our **** together, he's been just another guy.

I have no statistics to back this up, but if my memory is correct, I think we've done well against him lately.

    2016 and 2017 (didn't pitch in 2015)

28 innings, 10 earned runs and about a .220 BAA.

I don't know what the **** he looked like...but McCullers gave up 1 hit in that game and struck out 6 while not allowing a run. If you're using Game 7 as an indicator that McCullers may not perform well in a high pressure situation, that may not be your best bet, champ.

The blurb I posted last night was from the 2017 MLB post-season manual according to McTaggart:

"Section 11.7 of the MLB postseason manual states the Commissioner or a designated representative shall determine whether a ballpark’s retractable roof shall remain open or closed before and during any postseason game."

I guess we'll just have to see. I was in the the middle of a full college breakdown in '05, so I was only vaguely aware of anything going on with that WS. I also, unlike this season, saw that entire playoff run as a giant fluke and was pretty much expecting it to catch up with them in WS, which it did, so I wasn't looking for other reasons why we might have lost.

I didn't know if the official rules I posted had changed since then. And I wasn't able to find the official postseason manual after multiple people here pointed out that Section 11.7 of it gives the commissioner's office discretion over our roof, overriding the umpire manual.

As I posted last night, all I've got is that they let us keep it closed under nearly ideal weather conditions for an outdoor game for all four home wins of this year's ALCS. And I suspect Astros management is already on the case.

    This.

McCullers has been a big game pitcher.

He has very high end stuff and is very competitive.

I am not afraid of the moment being too big for him.

I'm not sure my body can take any more of this, but I'm willing to sacrifice myself for the greater good.

    Huh?

The Astros have taken home advantage in the series.

As for McCullers, do you watch baseball?

Lance McCullers has pitched very well in pressure spots, including an elimination game in the ALCS.

He has a career era of 2.3 in the playoffs, his FIP is even lower and his WHIP is .70

This idea that he looked like he was ******** himself is absurd.

It sounds like you have other issues with the Astros.

You mean...you had the ability to watch this epic game unfold live on television...and you turned it off? That's rough. I'm sorry...but I have to laugh a little. I can understand flipping channels briefly but, to completely tune out, that's just wrong. This is what we live for in live baseball. That was a game for the ages.

Most career postseason HRs in Astros history...

    Beltran - 8 - 21 games
    Altuve - 6 - 19
    Correa - 6 - 19
    Berkman - 6 - 29
    Lamb - 5 - 16

Shoutout to Mike Lamb !! Perfect DH. Ballin Bregman could tie him this weekend.

    90's Astros MIA

Verlander's stuff last night was elite. Most of the time that he goes out there with that stuff, he is going to go 7-8 innings with 0-2 runs allowed.

Unfortunately for him, he gave up two homers.

Luck plays a part in this as well.

Same thing with Dallas to a lesser degree, half the time he comes out pitching with the stuff he had, he goes 6 innings with 1 run.

The Dodgers deserve credit, just like Marwin deserves credit for hitting the pitch he did. Luck plays a part.

The truth is that Kershaw and Verlander both had very good stuff through games 1 and 2. Dallas had his usual stuff. Hill was his usual self; hittable but usually gets out of it.
