No doubt...YAO SUCKED last night for sure....but Steve was worse and has regressed for the 2nd straight year. DD
I agree that Yao plays soft, but he's the CENTER...who does what he can if he touches the ball and has improved alot over 1 year...just look at his #s..he just has to realize he simply needs to power his way in deep to dunk it or create the foul (his FT% is awesome for a center!), and hopefully the refs will call those damn handchecks everybody is commiting against him!! bottom line is he's IMPROVED. SF on the other hand is the point guard, whose responsibility as a PG is to distribute and PASS to open men who can SHOOT and shoot when necessary. Great PGS have great court vision and know where their teammates are...SF is a one man show who fails in every category for a PG...I don't care how athletic he is, his butterfingers cannot handle a freakin basketball!!! and his stupid cross-over is a bad habit...him and mobley hesitate to pass to YAO and make their whole team run the floor before they turn it over (same as moochie) they still can't run a fastbreak, should I pass??? or do I lay up a contended shot??? maybe I'll get the foul?? I don't know I'll throw it up and see what happens... there's a BIG consensus reason everybody on this board is bashing the backcourt because it's SOOO freakin obvious that they SUCK and can't play team basketball...and they've been here how LONG??? no improvement in the backcourt...both really need to look at tapes of Kenny the Jet Smith and Sam I am Cassell to see how a champion PG runs the floor and feeds the ball correctly to his Center (Hakeem)...so how long us fans gonna wait for the stooges to improve?? I say trade them if they don't get their act together...shoot I'd take Sam in a heartbeat over these 2 boneheads, otherwise we are lottery bound and us fans have to eat it again because of globetrotter style of playing.
DaDakota: Steve's defense except for last night is way better. There is no digression. Steve's offense is more under control. Toronto was STeve's worst game, and last night the second worst. Yao couldn't shoot last night, and has his problems with rebounding etc. To the author of this thread: I was originally just going to voice my opinion about how I think we shouldn't be calling for more threads slamming Yao, or Steve. Who cares how many threads bashing a player there is. One thread with well thought out criticism is great. One thread with mindless bashing of any player is one too many, and we shouldn't call for more threads to even it out.
