Always great to get a win. Even better when it’s a blowout of the Mavs. Even sweeter when it’s on the same night the baseball team wins the AL pennant.

So will the Rockets be wearing red at home from now on, or was this just for the opener? Not sure if anyone mentioned it on the broadcast or anything

 

Nike Jerseys don’t have a home or away. I think it’s just whatever the team opts to wear. I’m assuming no one mentioned it because you’ll probably just see a random rotation.

 

A blowout even with anemic shooting is encouraging. I hope we can get a good PG backup soon. I'm worried about CP3's injury. Week to week sounds bad.

 

what's the point ? you can just play that young player in the D League anyway

Hats off to Worrell for gloating on Dirk's career. The man deserves that kind of praise even though we're a rival. I like to make fun of the guy as he's gotten older, but he's the closest thing to Hakeem's 94' Rockets of being a one star champion. JET was a much better second guy than Vernon or Thorpe, but still his championship deserves props from Hakeem fans. We know how well Hakeem had to play within that team of smaller contributors. Dirk was close.

 

We're too busy starting threads about firing the Astros manager that got us to the World Series.

 

Man Harden was great on both ends last night. When he knuckles down he can be a good defender.

 

@heypartner I went through the game again and was thinking about your comments on Demetrius Jackson/Cat Mobley comparisons.

Not the same player at all, but there are some striking similarities. I agree with you though. The elements are definitely there. ...if only DJ had Cat's ability to post up...

 

Yeah, but it's still one less roster spot for a player, i mean, someone who can help right now if there's a need, or a young guy who has some sort of upside, Bobby has no upside at this point obviously, and if he can't even play 5 minutes when there's no pg available to play, i don't really know what's the point of keeping him...i mean, i know why they do but eh.

-everyone was locked in on defense...the Rockets got a lot of steals and dominated the glass
-Harden beasted and had 26 at halftime...Nene looked good too, and Gordon continued attacking the rim
-Clint had another double-double

cons
-main one to me was that the offense wasn’t good when Harden was off the floor...that will be a problem until CP3 gets back, especially against teams that aren’t as scrubby as the Mavs...I like Demetrius Jackson’s defense, but his offense is a different story

 

Dallas has a really bad team.

 

We really do need a better back up PG. Jackson on the offensive end is terrible. Bad decision making, can't shoot, etc. I'm cool with getting the corpse of D Williams if it means a better ran offense. He still played solid last year in Dallas.

 

It was a great game until our 3rd unit came in, man that was pathetic. A 36 point lead down under 20 just like that..
Gordon looked quick again and needs to keep attacking that basket. We haven't shot well from three once as a group and still are up 3-0, that's encouraging with Harden leading the way tonight. Capela, Nene did some work inside as well.

What's up with that 2018 pre-game intro video? It is by far the worst in years with that music, the obvious studio environment and lack of anything new or memorable. Rockets have set the bar pretty high over the last few years, so that's why I'm disappointed.
