I have a large family and luckily we're all in Houston. We will feast hard and give thanks all day tomorrow. And watch a little football too. I can't wait. Even though we're all in the same city, we hardly ever get everyone all together at the same time. This is my favorite holiday.

What about you? What are your plans?

Going to Louisiana to spend it with the in-laws. It will probably just be a small family group, and we'll probably go to a restaurant. The extended family gatherings when I was a kid were great, but they're way too far away to get to now.

Tonight, at 8PM, unless Houston is in the midst of major flooding, I will be cranking up my bionic barbecue apparatus and will be smoking a 13 pound turkey overnight on a large fire with 8-10 large wet chunks of pecan wood on it. I will leave it out there for 12 hours. At 8AM tomorrow I will take it over to my folk's place and my Mom will finish it off in her oven. At 9AM tomorrow, I report to a volunteer post to do a Meals on Wheels run to bring food to hungry and disadvantaged people for Thanksgiving (I am doing it this year instead of volunteering at Waste Management's Superfeast downtown). After I finish my Meals on Wheels run at around 10:30 AM, I will return to my house to drink beer, relax and watch football until I show up at my folk's place for Thanksgiving dinner at 4PM.

You now have a blow by blow account of what my life will consist of for the next 36 hours!!!

I have the day off tomorrow. I will sleep late, have breakfast, drink some mimosas, have a real light lunch, watch some football, then I'll be making 2 cornish hens, some green beans, potatoes, a salad and have some apple pie a la mode for dessert, more football and a bunch of computer time. Then back to work on Friday.

I am thankful for having the day off.

Our neighbor is firing up his smoker and we are going to put our turkey in tonight as well. Our show opens Friday, so I think we're just going to eat and do nothing else all day.

I'm going to go volunteer at George R. Brown tommorow. None of the numbers on their website worked so I guess I'll just show up and see if they need a hand.

oomp what show are you doing?

I have been prepping and cooking for two days now.

Here in New York we are having 10 transplanted Texans in our house tomorrow. Some I've known since my years in Houston, some I've met here in the city!

Will put the turkey in the oven @ midnight for an eight hour slow roast.

    Here's the menu...

Slow Roasted Turkey with Cornbread, Fennel and Ham Stuffing

    Saggoponack Corn Pudding

    Mushrooms and Chestnut with Thyme

    French Green Beans with shallots

    Sweet Potatoes

    Cranberry & Ginger Relish

    Sour Cream Pumpkin Pie

    Bread Pudding with Bourbon Sauce

    mc mark's Holiday Homebrew ale

    Happy Thanksgiving all!

Get up and be tortured by the smell of the greatest meal of the year for about 5 hours until I can finally rip into it. Then watch some football, play some football, lay around, drink about 15 diet sodas, play poker, tell jokes.

    I love thanksgiving. :)

Get up, do some cleaning, shower, watch some of the Green Bay-Lions game, pick my girlfriend up at the airport, watch the first half of the Cowboys game, call my parents at halftime, watch the second half of the Cowboys victory, help the girlfriend do some cooking, eat, drink wine, clean, eat dessert, clean some more, go to bed, have sex, go to sleep...

Should be a nice, full day... :)

Wake up next to my honey at my parents house in Chicago.
Put on my worn out Favre jersey (doesn't really go well with my bright orange windpants)
    Surf ClutchFans.net
    Chat with Major via AOLIM
    Drink coffee with the family
    Play a little Aggrevation
Watch my Mom prepare the feast and give thanks that I have such a wonderful family
    Watch the Packers
    Watch the Dolphins
    Play a little more Aggrevation
Drink some of my Mom's famous Rum Slush
Eat a bunch of turkey (brined this year), stuffing, mashed potatoes, brocoli-rice-cheese casserole, pumpkin pie.
Drink some more of my Mom's famous Rum Slush
Go to bed early because my honey's flight leaves at 6:50 tomorrow morning.
That, or play some more Aggrevation.
