Okay, I have to say no to this suggestion.

The excuss that they have been given free reign to play how ever they want, therefore we should wait and give them time to to grow and learn to pass and stop make bad decisions, is obserd.

They are PROFESIONNAL basketball players in the highest league in the sport. They should already understand what is expected of them and should be applying it every night. If they don't have the capability to show on a nightly bases they are going out of their way to conform to the system and show better judgement, THEN TRADE THEM!!!

I am not making excepting another excuss on behalf of Steve. He has been full of excusses since he has joined the Rox and I for one am officially fed up.

I am one the most objective people who post in here and I am to the point were enough is enough.

No one, regardless of how many stats you find or allstars he plays in, can say that Steve is even a decent PG, period.

He is one sprained ankel (that affects his leaping ability) from being a has been. His talent will not carry him much longer.

DO you know why we won't trade him.....

Nobody else wants him, not for what we think we can get for him. He is a marked man, and most teams have already proven that this year. Save your "but he had 9 assist the other night" arguement. It was against the Clippers, and what did he have tonight, and why did Lopez have 5 and Kirilenko have 4? Can you say better basketball minds?

No I'm not post a knee jerking post, I am just done with Steve.

Steve Francis has the same IQ as his jersey number, so does Cat. The Rockets are going nowhere as long as these two are around. Why can't we get someone like Nash to run the team????????????

Stockton is one of the greatest point guards in NBA history--I remember being 12 or 13 (I'm 31 now) and arguing with my cousins over who was a better pure PG, John Stockton or MAGIC JOHNSON (damn, now I feel old). Even at his current age Stockton would be a better PG than the Rockets, with their current guard-play, have any right to dream for. Man, that guy would get Yao a gazillion wide-open 12-foot jumpers and driving layups off the pick-and-roll, not to mention all the penetrations into the lane and dropping it off to Yao for dunks. I can assure you he would NEVER mis-manage the end of a quarter like the 3rd quarter tonight, when the shotclock was off, the way Francis went iso and took a terrible long jumper with still 6 seconds left, thus giving the opposing point guard Mo Williams the time (and freedom, with Francis' apparent defensive indifference) to go coast-to-coast for a layup before the quarter ended. It was, in a word, pathetic.

no. i woudn't trade steve for Bibby. i think bibby is overrated, he is a team player that is good, but if we lose francis we do not have enough good scorers, maybe Mobley for bibby. but i'm not to sure about that. and the kings would never do that trade, so no trade with the kings

the argument that we should give them time to grow together just doesn't fly with me. what happens to players who get traded during the middle of the season? they have to adjust to a new system too right? any player, should know enough about fundamental basketball to adjust to new systems. sure, it will take a couple of games to work out. look at payton and malone, they were also from very different styles of basketball before joining the lakers. i don't see them having difficulties fitting into the lakers system. i think it's all about attitude. payton and malone are WILLING to re-train themselves for a new system. they are WILLING to accept smaller roles in order to win. they are smart enough to recognize what they need to do in order for the team to win. they don't need to be coerced into playing their roles. sf and cat just doesn't have that kind of attitude. there is resistance in their minds for change. they are too arrogant to see their shortcomings. they have this attitude that they are better than everyone else. they are just plain immature and doesn't really see the big picture. there is a possibility that this might never happen as long as they are with the rox. from all the games i've watched so far this season, nothing indicates to me that sf and cat are willing to grow up.

that's a great idea Pimp. let wilks play. from the little that i've seen of him, he looks like a real point guard. or better yet, give moochie's minutes to wilks and see how he does. nothing to loss right?

It's simple really. There's a way to get all of this fixed:

Steve Francis and Mo Taylor for Rasheed Wallace and Jeff McInnis.

I'd even swap Mobley for Derek Anderson in that deal, make life easier.

Francis is averaging around 5 assists and around 5 TO's. How the hell is JVG coping with this?

Brad Miller is averaging almost 6 assts and around 1.5 TO's. Brad freaking Miller.

I dont understand why last week chicago can get rid of rose (whose trade value is less than mobleys) for alvin williams and mo pete, I would LOVE alvin williams and mo pete. Oh well. I bet it was a $$ issue I dont know about.

This is one of the best posts I have ever read here. I agree 100%. People want to trade Mobley and I do to,but its a $$ business, and in the long run with our salary cap Id rather trade Steve for an expiring contract like Rasheed Wallace ,then cut wallace this summer, and use that cap space for some smart, euro, players.

I am 100% with you. Either nash or kidd will easily make magic for the rox. Being an all-star player as francis is, trading him for nash/kidd could be a feasible scheme.

I also think Steve is hopless.
If it is possilble that trade SF for kidd or nash is fantastic.
By the way, Yao is working as hard as he can. He will be the king of the game one day.

cut Rasheed Wallace?! Mobley is always trying to shoot the ball even when you have open players on the same side, I don't know but it always seems like Mobley cares more about how many points he scores in a game then the actual win.
