It's nice of you guys to offer me an excuse for being wrong, like I must be drunk or something. But sadly that's not the reason.

I think maybe I've become susceptible to negativity, lately, especially in how the GARM dissects stats and tweets, especially tweets with stats. I've started seeking the most negative interpretations in everything. Thank God for the poll feature and Fact Checking to set me straight, again.

What about anticipation for the season to start? I can only speak for myself here but I've been ready to get the stink of game 6 out of my system for awhile now, also the whole Melo-drama stuff that clouded over the GARM for months at no end. I think people are just in a more cynical mood than usual but it will go away tomorrow night. ;)

I think the positivity is already showing.

Imagine if someone posted that Feigen tweet of MDA's negative quote and titled it "MDA admits the team 'screwed it up' last season." And added in the OP only the comment, "I told you once defenses figured us out, we became predicable and 'very, very mediocre.'" In a parallel universe of negative threads, we could have one full of takes like this:

"If we played like we did after last all-star break, we'd be on pace for the 8th seed this season." -- @RocketsFido

So, I guess the bright side of my utterly wrong interpretation of the tweet is that I posted the Tweet first, but in such a laughably wrong way, that no negativity happened. Maybe that's the answer to a positive GARM; like in D&D, we interpret negative quotes like MDAs in a false way, resulting in everything laughing.

hmmm...I'll have to think about that some more. Maybe try it out -- like say, on purpose, as a test.

Come on, Hp. It's the poster who makes the thread as well as the type of language used in it that will always have the biggest influence on the types of responses you get. You're usually a positive type of guy and you also know your basketball better than most here so most of the folks who respond to your threads tend to keep that in mind. I think some here couldn't tell if you were being serious or not, I did catch the humorous undertones though.

But, I see humor in everything. Laughter is always the best medicine, Hp. Remember that.

Let me see if I'm following:

So, you're saying the legitimacy of the truth or falsehood of the OP has little influence on the level of debate it creates, but rather it's who posts it, and what narrative is being promoted. Just like in D&D??

Meaning I can't possibly create a controversial thread that gains traction, with a simple one-line opening take of limiting factual support under a polarizing thread title, no matter how hard I try. But I can diffuse a potentially very divisive MDA quote about "screwing up last year, and being very, very mediocre" that could devolve into blaming Morey and Harden, simply by being a lightening rod for laughing at how wrong I was for saying MDA was blaming Morey.

hmmm...I'll have to think about that some more.

Why is it that everything has to come down to narratives and who loves who?

Why do any of us need to make a controversial thread btw, or be mad about it when it backfires? Hmm?

In January we were like 10-7, hit a tough patch in the middle of the month.

So I think it was before the trade

We sucked ass after allstar break. Trade deadline helps a little bit. Before allstar break our team was on fire

MDA is blaming Morey as much as he is blaming Steve Nash in this tweet.
