Name your closers folks. I think it's a given that Ariza is out there with Harden/Paul. That leaves two spots. I like Gordon and a big. Don't know which big though. I think situation and opponent determines that.

Obviously it depends game to game, match ups, who's playing well, etc.

if its a close game half way through the 4th quarter: paul, gordon, harden, ariza, capela for rim protection.

if its a last shot type situation where we have to score i'm putting ryno at the 5 instead of capela.

if its a one-stop type of situation: paul, tucker, ariza, moute, capela... i honestly don't think any team has a better defensive lineup other than the warriors.

With closing being so situational, it's hard to give one answer.

I think of PJ Tucker as a closer on both ends. He can shoot, play defense, dribble down the court and make a play.

    I'd go:
    Chris Paul
    James Harden
    Eric Gordon
    PJ Tucker
    Capela

In defense of Capela, Chris Paul is quoted as saying that they're trying to make Capela the leader of the defense. If you don't have your defensive leader in there calling out assignments, you're not at your best.

If you need a rebound, or a three pointer or a high percentage FT shooter, this all changes, but last 4 or 5 minutes of a close game. I think my list probably works. Sorry Ariza! No disrespect! But the good thing about Ariza is that you can literally sub him out for anyone on that list and you'd still have a good set of closers. So if someone fouls out, is playing like crap, injured or something like that.. we should still be solid.

Ye like they said it depends on the situation.
We wont have a lot of close games in the regular season though, so our closers will probably be:
Bobby Brown, Isaiah Taylor, Troy Williams, Zhou qi and Tarik Black.

Here's to your closing roster being out there more often than my closing roster. Cheers.

It might depend on the opponent.

Agreed, given that Paul / Harden / Ariza are on the floor. Agree that it is likely that Gordon will also be on the floor as a scorer/shooter and someone that can defend. If a BIG is needed then Nene. Not sure if I trust Capela in this situation. If not, then I could see PJ Tucker playing the C spot (ala Draymon Green / Chuck Hayes).

I disagree with all of your choices quiet honestly.

You don't need to be thinking about all kinds of situational lineups because the situation will be the same.

You don't player Harden/Paul with 5 minutes to go and up by 40 pff whats wrong with you- ughh risk for injury? smh

Closers this season: Zhou, WIlliams, Taylor, Brown, and sign the brazilian superstar for the rest of the season- de paula.
