Seems like a nice guy. Like I said though, regardless of intent, some things have to be punished whether you can establish intent or not. I feel for him, but mistakes have reprecussions regardless of how you feel about it.

I don't buy it. Seriously, Chink???

Should've have thought twice before posting that. Regardless, intent is irrelevant most jobs you can get fired for f-ing up majorly. If someone in financial services made an clerical error costing the company a million dollars they probably and should be fired.

funny how it's being oversensitive when it comes to THE derogatory term for Asian-Americans. SAS trying to play the fair guy but firing that ESPN employee was definitely the proper punishment.

Ugh. Why did I bother watching any part of this? Like you said, after all the long-winded bloviating, the conclusion is asians are being oversensitive here? And that asians and other ethnic groups just want to be angry to get theirs b/c blacks have been so outspoken. Stupid.

They also have sushi in Europe, cornbread in China, apple pie in South Africa. Still doesn't make it right.

That's a good question and while we don't have a response at this time, please be assured that we are working hard to fulfill your request.

That's not a very good analogy. "chink" and "chink in the armor" are terms that have meaning totally unrelated to Asian people. This creates the possiblity that people are not aware of their racist context. "Darkie" has only one meaning. A better example would maybe be if a black player were involved in point shaving, and the headline was "Monkey Business".

But if it was a black racial slur itd be chalked up as just another day.

Any bigot garbage deserves a firing

It's crazy how sensitive people are nowadays, chink in the armor is very common idiom, firing him for that was idiotic.
