I would suggest staying downtown at the new Mariott hotel. Walking distance from the stadium and several restaurants nearby. You can hop on the rail and go through downtown, go to the museums, NRG stadium.

If it's in your budget, stay at Hilton America's next to Toyota Center or the brand spanking new Marriott Marquis. Those hotels are a short walk to Discover Green Park, restaurants, and shopping. There's several other hotels within a few blocks that may be a little cheaper. Also to avoid driving in Houston's oh so fun traffic, you're also walking distance from the light rail system that can take you to the previously mentioned Museum District.

Connect with El Hitman, he will take you places that you have never dreamed of.

    Not talking about Joel Osteen.

This is all good, except I know of no "real kolaches" in Houston (you buy them on the road b/t Htown and Austin/SA), is this a newfangled thing?

One more tip - don't ever engage in any kind of eggball talk with the fatties

Chances are you will drop several IQ points

    Cheers to you and yours

I agree, they're better from a little Czech bakery in like Fayetteville or La Grange. But if you want some "real kolaches," Houston's got you covered, too...

Yeah, it's pretty great. Real deal, family owned for multiple generations. The location, um, isn't ideal. Its on Telephone just south of the South Loop. Near Gulfgate.

    Ignore this ass.

Like others have said, there's no one thing that stands out as a 'must do'. But there are lots of great attractions. World class museums, world class zoo, aquarium in galveston, and of course world class sports (which you already have covered).

Also echoing others, there is world class restaurants in every cuisine imaginable. One of the perks of being the most diverse city in America.

    Enjoy!

NASA might be worth a trip but I haven't been there in 20 years so not sure what's going on there now. Whatever you do, don't go to Moody Gardens and place on ignore anyone that recommends it.

You can climb around one of the 757(?)s that carry them. If you've never been, it's cool. Then go to Tookie's.
