I hate Pax. All they show are reruns of Touched By An Angel.

But the Bush administration said bin Laden isn't a threat and isn't a priority. If so, his presence doesn't justify the invasion and occupation of Iran.

Yes, it absolutely does. But it also fuels charges that bin Laden and Saddam have more value to Bush alive than dead. And, if that's the case, you have to ask why. Their capture would be a symbolic end to the War on Terror.

Sorry if I offended. Didn't mean to. Your statement was very broad though: "They want Pax Americana over the globe, and they think it can actually happen."

Your succinct statement includes nothing about militarism or any means, just about the goal. :)

The comments cited don't really say that. They just indicate that they are not focusing on individuals as much as the whole picture.

I don't think it necessarily says that either; you can construe that from the skimpy quote provided. Maybe they are just making excuses, but I like to think that they are looking at overall strategy that will win out overall rather than pursing symbolic victories and distorting the allotment of resources.

Harry Shearer brought this up in his radio show this week. Bush said our country would get Bin Laden dead or alive. Apparently this general did not get the memo or it was too hard for the Bushies - next subject, Saddam. Oh wait, next subject.

I don't buy that. (no offense)
Bin Laden is target #1 and the person most reviled and wanted dead by the American people. Frankly, I find it difficult to believe this guy would say what he said. If he's that clueless, he should be replaced. If he's being some kind of political tool, he should be replaced.

Hell, he should just be replaced. Promote his ass out of there, asap.
In my opinion, of course.

I guess that whole "dead or alive" thing before we invaded Afghanistan was just a smoke screen. Why am I continually surprised by the crap spewed by these people?
