This is the article I read:

    https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.wa...fe9c02-a465-11e7-8cfe-d5b912fabc99_story.html

It shows that the military response to Haiti was more than double despite Haiti also being an island and also being far away from the US mainland.

You have 3-Star generals who are surprised by the weak response.

And then you have out right lies such as the mayor of San Juan hasn't been into the fema office or refuses to meet with Trump when she has met with them and never got an invite to meet Trump.

There white House is just out right lying and people like RL and Tmac lick it up.

From that article, there are legitimate reasons why the military response would be slower for PR vs Haiti. But there is also a clear of lack of leadership and sense of urgency from this Admin toward PR. I don't know if that's because of this admin view toward PR people or what, but I certainly cant' rule that out. Just prefer not to go there at this point.

As for out right lying - that's normal for RL. And not surprising for this WH, although I haven't follow closely enough to have an opinion on that concerning PR disaster response.

Yes, that's a very significant and useful force with a large helicopter wing and a Marine expeditionary unit.

And there's article from that time period saying it was a failure:

Certainly Obama is not above criticism, but we are talking about an effort that is paltry in comparison. Instead of defending Trump why aren't you able to assess and criticize your own party's candidate? Just because you clearly support Trump doesn't mean everything he does is right. He hasn't been a good leader here.

Haiti was an earthquake without warning. This was a hurricane - a disaster they knew was coming. They knew PR would be overwhelmed but didn't care. Trump is driven by showmanship and optics. He did what was necessary to have good optics, not what was necessary to avoid a disaster. The result was a weaker than needed response. You can defend him all you want, but it's obvious from his tweets he has no clue on how to lead.
