It would seem more calculated to me if their primary current gen console (Switch) had a virtual console that they were afraid too many classic console sales would eat into the market of, but that's not that case, at least not at the moment. There's clearly a pretty big market for these classic consoles and they could even increase their margins ($80 for these things seems pretty cheap to me) and still sell them like crazy with more supply but they just won't do it for some reason. That, along with the fact that they are consistently generations behind with even some of the simplest gaming features, leads me to believe that there is quite a bit of incompetence there.

Anyone else planning to stand in line on September 29th for one of these? If this wasn't the first console I ever owned (and my favorite) I probably wouldn't. There is just too much nostalgia here for me to pass up.

they are making a huge margin on these, they sell every single one they make and creating demand just by selling them. When people cannot get one it will be big news when the virtual console is released and that will get a marketing jumpstart.

It's all calculated. They got a massive cash injection ahead of the Switch being released with the first one.

You're probably gonna stand in line and not get one.

I would really like one myself, but Nintendo keeps pulling this same crap with everything they release. I'm not jumping in that rat race just to hear how Nintendo "didn't expect this much demand". They are clearly denying their product to drive up demand and increase brand glamour, so no thanks.

Yea, it was one per person, was able to score mine, I was 13th in line, they had 26 in stock, so BrickSeek estimated pretty close

Just got mine from Best Buy. Got there at 830, was the 77 person in line, they had like 130. Sold out once I was actually purchasing it. Im glad I went out, I wasn't gonna go figuring that they would already be gone.
Guess they finally listened to consumers and actually made a lot of them this time.

They announced last month they were going to stock more on launch day than the entire inventory they had for the NES Classic, so we'll see how fast stores will restock.

I was lucky to get my NES Classic when the Amazon Truck debuted in late July at retail.

Just picked one up, I'm curious to see what games still hold up well. I'm thinking Mario, Zelda and DKC will still be fun but games like Mario Kart and F-Zero probably haven't aged well.

Just signed up. I'm guessing it's only 1 truck with limited location(s)?
